Is there a book/catalogue that would tell me which towns in Somerset employed a Maltese Cross cancel ? Would I be right in thinking it would be the earlier post towns: eg. Axbridge, Bath, Bridg(e)water, Bruton, Castle Cary, Chard, Clevedon ?, Crewkerne, Cross ?, Dulverton, Frome, Glastonbury,...

Need help identifying a Chinese stamp booklet by Stephen Lorimor
I bought an unusual Chinese stamp booklet a while back. Unlike most stamp booklets that have a few stamps with a cover around it designed to minimize packaging, this one has a sheet of eight stamps with a ton of fancy packaging. It has a lot of writing in Chinese characters that are beyond my...

What's the English word for "efterporto"? by Toke Nørby
Efterporto (sometimes called strafporto) is the Danish word for what the reciever must pay when you have sent him a letter with insufficient postage and he must pay the rest and a fee? I think nachgebühr is the German word. -- Mvh Toke Læs om Ejnar Olsen og...

Envelopes with postage embossed on them by Chris[_11_]
I've managed to get all the pages in my binders and have been soaking stamps off of envelopes this weekend. I've run across some though that I find interesting. These are actually embossed into an envelope with postage, I haven't looked through my books yet to see if they're in there though. Do...

For some reason I lost interest in collecting stamps about 47 years or so ago. When I was home to see my mom last month she gave me my stamp collection that she had been holding onto for all these years along with a whole box of stamps that I had not put into the book. I'm ready to start collecting...

Mystic Stamp Co. by Beanie[_3_]
I sent away for the Mystic color catalog of US stamps recently. It arrived along with some old used US stamps (which I returned unopnened.) The catalog is really quite a work of art, with great photography. However, Mystic's prices seem to be very high. Far higher than I've been paying for stamps...
