LUS Atomica website updated by Giovanni Abrate
We have added a new picture of the Atomica Magica pen and corrected a couple of typos. Check out the website dedicated to the LUS pen company of Italy, a firm that had 1,000 employees at the height of its success, in the mid 1950s. If you have never seen a "Supermolleggiata" pen (and wonder what...

Parker Sonnet Nibs by Paul G
Hi All, Anyone familiar with Parker Sonnet nibs? Are they true-to-size? Feed wet or dry? Currently use most brand medium nibs, and a "F" in Pelikans. How would the Sonnet nib run? Always appreciate the input. Regards, Pelikanyo Paul

Strathmore Writing 24lbs vs. Crane Crest 24lbs by Henry
Hello, Anyone have any comments on these two papers? I wish I could just step out and try them both but neither is availble here in Montreal, QC, Canada. At least I have not found them yet. Anyway, also do you know if you can order these in smaller packs? 500 sheets is fine, but 500 envelopes for...

Best "Starting"inks by radarman10
Hi everyone, I just bought a Rotring 600 Med Nib NOS. Great pen but it's not a good starter. I've tried several different inks and found Parker basic black seems the best. Pelikan and Private Reserve both blues, the worst. But even with the Parker ink it will sometimes still fail to start even in...

Moleskines by User1014
Bought some Moleskine's for 2007. I've heard Noodler's Ink is good with them, what about Pelikan 4001 ? Finer nibs are probably a good idea so as not to get too much ink down and therefore get some bleed or whatever you guys call it :-) Will my mileage vary?

DC Supershow video by Norman Haase
Hi everybody, I've put up a little video of the show on my website that you might want to take a gander at. Lighting, sound and the talent of the filmmaker all leave something to be desired (Scorsese needn't worry about me), but it will perhaps give those that have never attended a pen show a...

Question on Moleskine Daily Diary by Juan
This may be a bit OT, but since there're moleskine users in the group, I'll try I have a 2007 moleskine diary (pocket), and I've noticed the phases of the moon symbols; no problems with that (I think), but what about the sun symbols? For example, on June 7 there's a sun and "Rus"... what does it...

Pen repair and parts advice? by LF
Finally put DaBook to use; good to see Frank's signature and read his advice. It sat, forgotten in a draw for a few years, with an ink encrusted collection of assorted fountain pens, while I enjoyed a Lami Safari. I soaked a few pens in water overnight, followed Frank's advice, and now have a...

Wow .. wish all spam was that easy to stop. I must get 100 emails a day for prescription drugs or some miracle pill to enlarge myself. Do you people think I really want those ads emailed to me? Why do they hide the content with some obscure subject line? Do they really think they can fool me into...

photo-flo by Gregg Gibson
I'm interested in wetting agents for ink, and have been exploring this group's archives on the subject. I really like the way liquid detergent increases the wetness of my ink, but I don't like the increased foaming. I found reference to Photo-flo as an alternative wetting agent. On October 3,...

Writing with caps on or off? by JChapman
Just curious... a lot of fountain pens, when capped during use, are way longer than most clickable pens. Does this present a problem for anyone? In short, do you write with the cap on the back of your pen or with the cap on the desk? Thanks for your input! JC
