Advice for a newbee by Mebsuta
Hello all, Simply, what would be a good fountain pen for a beginner? I have no experience at all with these, but I must have one. I'm leaning toward Pelikan because of the great reviews I've read, and their esthetics. Love that blue and silver 805! I started researching pens for my wedding guest...

Weight by JCC
I would bet Giovanni would give you the exact weight of the pen and compare it to the exact weight of one or two other well known modersn. I will say this. I have a Parker Big Red here and hefting the Filcao and the Big Red makes me bet that the Filcao is clearly heavier. Now I am hefting a MB...

Dip pens by morten
Bought a couple in Europe a few weeks ago - thought they might be fun for writing letters. Problem is, after each dip, I get only half a sentence or so of writing time. Is that indicative of dip pens? If so, I pity the writers of old. Or are these cheapies that just don't hold ink?

Sheaffer Balance Millenium EF nib by Jack Harrell
I just got a Sheaffer Balance Millenium with an EF nib. I'm very new to the FP stuff. Do all EF nibs write so light that you can barely read the writing? Is the nib not putting enouth ink down? I'm using the Skrip ink that came with the set.

JP asked for a comment on Filcao, so.... by JCC
My wife wanted one of the new Filcao yellow resin Leaders, which looks like the Parker Big Red/Mandarin. I bought her one from RIchard Binder and the pen is wonderful. The nib is stiff but very very smooth. So I emailed Richard to buy one for myself, but in red resin. He was out. So I looked...
