CIT SmartMinting by Anthony R. Gonzales, Sr.
Ursula Kampmann has an interesting write-up on her site at Coins Weekly. I have seen a lot of these smaller issuing governments (like Cook Islands) in the past few years with unbelievably high relief and 3D artistry. Coins Weekly has a small write-up on the company that has been minting these...

Sigma Metalytics PMV by Anthony R. Gonzales, Sr.
Has anyone ever used one of these precious metal verifiers? Was wondering if anyone has had any problems in using one or any false flags with it. At almost $900 for the full package, I wouldn't personally want something that presents any problems. What are your thoughts on...

What are your thought? by sgt23
Will any of you be purchasing the Mercury, Standing Liberty or Walking Liberty gold coins this year? Do you like this ideal or do you think the mint should stay away from these kinds of products?

RUSSIA: Fake 1899 10 rouble coin by Bob Hairgrove
This must be fake, but is it a known counterfeit? http://imagecloset.com/5/12041009-Russia_10_Kopeek_1899_Faelschung.jpg (It's actually a gold 10 rouble coin, in spite of what the file name says). The mintmaster AR was only active after 1901. --

Old Dealer/Publisher Information Required by sealladh58
I am doing some numismatic research at the moment and have come across a couple of handwritten letters on headed notepaper with the address "Collectors Research Limited, PO Box 111, Montreal, Quebec". They are signed by someone called "John" and almost certainly date to around the period...

Lincoln BIE collectors by [email protected]
If anyone is still watching this group. I'm looking for more information on the BIE Mint Oddity Collector's Guild. I would like to get in contact with anyone who was a member. I'm working on a tribute to some of the pioneers in mint errors and varieties. There seems to be two in the LINCOLN Die...

JFK 2015 Coin & Chronicles Set by Old Usenet User
Got on the Mint site at Noon Wednesday - system was a little slow and I had to reload the page a few times during checkout but I got my order for two in. Notified that they were shipped today. They apparently sold out because when I looked at the Mint site today, they are on back order. So,...

Accugrade photo slab by oepepper[_2_]
I put up on ebay an old Accugrade slab containing a Kennedy, bicentennial half dollar. I got that as a sample way back in the early 80s at the Long Beach Expo. It contains a photo slabbed along with the coin. Sort of a combo photo grade and slab concept. Interesting phase of the slab development,...

2015 Coin & Currency Set by Old Usenet User
Surprisingly, this didn't sell out immediately and as of this morning, they are still available. When I ordered on Monday at noon, the Mint website was SLOW, indicating to me that there were quite a few souls ordering it. At any rate, I got my order in and it was shipped the next day.

Don't Sue Me!!! by Jud
I think it worthy of note that in the Feb 9 issue of Coin World, page 43, that there is a new 'CAC'-like sticker, called 'MACge (Modern Approved Coin Grade Enhancement). The will only accept PCGS and NGC graded coins. One of the principles of this new company is Alan Hager. Remember him?
