New pennies and other coins delayed by mazorj
People are dumping their jars of pennies and other coins because of economic conditions. This is creating a "backwash" of coins at banks, so banks aren't ordering rolls of new coins. That's good news for those who search rolls of older coins, bad news for those who are waiting for rolls of new...

Interesting 'National Parks' quarters nitty-gritty by Michael G. Koerner
http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/NSQuartersProgram/ Apparently, the law creating that program requires that the quarters (56 total designs, one for each state, the five major territories and DC) be issued in the order in that the national sites were established. Accordingly, ALL 56 sites...

Flat rate box inserts for shipping coins by [email protected]
I saw in one of the numi publications recently someone advertising inserts for the USPS FRB1 flat rate boxes. These were hard plastic inserts for securing the up to 70 pounds inside the flat rate boxes. I can not seem to find the advertisment now and was wondering if anybody knows who was selling...

Check Out this "Solid Mint State, prooflike" Gold Coin by Bob
I am used to overgrading and misattribution in eBay auctions (who isn't?), but this is the most egregious I have seen in quite a while. Here is a mutilated coin, which somehow remains in "solid Mint State and prooflike" condition! (Sorry about the wrap--this is eBay Item number 330306681148 if you...

eBay Cancels Ancient Coin Auctions by Dave Welsh
Several German dealers returning to their business from the World Money Fair in Berlin were surprised to find that while they were away at the show, eBay had cancelled their ancient coin listings because of policies regarding selling archaeological objects on eBay. One major dealer found that...

Hi to the group I have recently acquired a dateless Buffalo nickel with the afformentioned U.S.N countermark. After some research I came to the conclussion it stood for United States Navy. In an old copy of Rulau, I saw a 1886 Morgan Dollar with the exact same Countermark. Unfortunately, that is...

Coin and Slab Wood Displays? Where to find quality???? by MKW
I am looking for some fine hardwood (walnut or cherry) cases made for PCGS style slabs. I am looking for something nice, American Made, with a nice real velvet lining. Not that foam stuff or molded plastic with a flocked surface. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

PCGS...problem...what to do? by MKW
I recently sent several coins to be graded to PCGS. Part of the value to me is in the slab. One coin was returned with a huge gash across the slab and smaller scratches around the inner coin holder. Will they replace this?
