1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent PCGS MS-64RD by
Ira
Not a Ms-65 Rd or better, this one is quite attractive for the grade.
Flashy and with good color. Starting at a dollar and better than ANY
MS-64Rd for sale at the recent Baltimore and Long Beach shows. This
one has been in a collection for some years and I have a very low
reserve against it.
See...

FA: 1831 Bust Half PCGS AU-58 by
Ira
A great look with attractive album toning at rims, this coin is a
whisper of rub away from MS-63. If thruth be told, most MS-63s have a
trace of rub as well.
See it at:

Thanks for looking.

Counterfeit coin by

Here, believe it or not, is a *fake* coin:

Phony as a $3 bill. Ersatz. False. Bogus. But not contraband. And very
cool.
My latest coin buy -- not my photo, the seller's, because the piece
hasn't arrived yet. Couldn't wait to show it off. g Not the...

New SCWC by
Mr. Jaggers
The new 36th edition of the 20th Century SCWC has 20 fewer pages than its
predecessor, I think the first time this has happened. I haven't been able
to find out everything that was dropped, but I do know that the listings for
Danzig, my all-time favorite country to collect, has been stripped of...

US gold hoarding in Europe by
1787[_2_]
I was reading Alan Herbert: "Coin Clinic" (p 106) and found a line rather
disturbing. He is discussing how European banks stockpiled large quantities
of US gold and slowly released some of them after WW II. This is well
known.
Here's the quote that caught my eye: "...but many of the coins are...

1923 with metal chunk by
[email protected]
I have just taken a picture of a 1923 Standing Liberty Quarter with
what appears to be a chunk of metal welded onto it, possibly by the
stamping process. A cud would be such a metallic chunk usually
attached to the rim of the coin. Does that term also apply to this
coin? Please look at it...

Matte Finish - How? by
Coffee's For Closers
I just got this year's New Zealand Silver Dollar, and I am very
pleased. It is the fifth and final one in the series, with each
having a distinctive look.
It's at http://stamps.nzpost.co.nz/Cultures/en-NZ/Coins/
It is hard to see on those pix, but it has a sort of dull matte
finish for the...

FA: MS-68 Morgan Dollar PCGS 1880-S by
Ira
If you are a collector of this popular series, this one would be worth
at look! PCGS is quite stingy with this grade, and actually seing the
typically baggy Morgan Dollar even in grades MS-65/66, this one is
quite an eye opener. I won't see PQ, because any Morgan Dollar in this
grade would be a...
