Souvenir sheets by Tony Vella
For some silly reason I just cannot bring myself to give or throw away souvenir sheets even those outside my collecting period (from Penny Black to December 31, 1959). I have been tempted to buy a full size photo album (some of my SS are rather large) to keep them in - the sticky pages covered...

It's Cinderella time. by Rod
Part of Australia's 150th Birthday. The Bridge was only 6 years old. Some things to note. You won't see "the stack of dishes" under the Bridge at Bennelong Point, Jorn Utzon designer of the Opera House was only just 20 then. The Lifesaving Issue (probably Bondi but I am not Au fait with the...

Questions from kilowa Danish perfins, Ivory Coast postalstationary, etc... by Joshua McGee[_2_]
OK, a roundup of questions from kiloware that I just sorted: 1. http://cjoint.com/?mtfg5ypcWY This piece of paper has the same design as a Cote d'Ivoire stamp -- it was identified as the stamp itself by the (inept) kiloware dealer. However, it is imperf, ungummed, on roughly 20# stock, and...

Machin Bisects by Chris Doran
An interesting pair of covers: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3502&item=5524929429&rd=1 I don't know what the PO rules about creating bisects are, but it looks as if the local post office had to write an explanation on each envelope and the sorting office to agree. (Is...

Scott numbering system by Ralphael1
Scott numbering system is about to send me to the funny farm where all good wackos go. Example: Catalog note after Scott 2597, "Nos. 2595-2597 also available in strips spaced for use in affixing machines to service first day covers." In my opinion that is a coil strip and needs a number, Scott...

Mass scanning of stamps question by Bill P
I have a need to scan thousands of stamps. I would like to place a few dozen on the scanner at a time, and then have some software automatically ( if possible) separate the individual stamps into separate image files. Does anyone know of the name of such software? Thanks In Advance Bill

I have a few used 3 cent Prince Edward Island postal stamps from 1942/43 time frame. They are in decent condition. Are these worth anything? There are at least 3 different graphics used on them. Thanks

Curiosity Corner #179: Maps on stamps by Rodney
BOTSWANA POSTAL MAIL MAP This interesting set of stamps issued by Botswana in August 1972 recalls something of the country's postal history. When joined vertically the stamps form a map of the Mafeking-Gubulawayo trail that constituted the mail route for Botswana, then the...

"The Fir Tree" by Mette
Christmas is coming closer, so it's time for the annual Season's Greetings to this group. This year I have chosen H.C. Andersen's heart-breaking tale about "The Fir Tree" that was transformed to a Christmas Tree -- illustrated with christmas trees on stamps world wide, whatever I could find in my...
