Scott US catalogues by
John Mycroft[_2_]
Santa gave me some cash for Christmas to spend unwisely so I guess it's time I updated my
1995 Scott catalog. I collect US in Scott albums including the revenue album. The
question is would I do better to buy the part 1 or the US specialised? None of the
websites I have been to give much of...

India ID? by
George
Question about this item.
http://www.georgestamps.org/images/gp_india_52.jpg
The basic stamp is India Scott # 52, the 5r of 1895. But the
overprint confuses me. Some Indian official stamps bear a "Service"
overprint, and some bear a "Postage Service" overprint. I cannot
locate one that has this...

Plate Number Coil (PNC) with inverted number by
[email protected]
Hi,
I hope this question is not extremely lame - if it is, please forgive
me: I'm really new to PNCs.
Anyway, a small collection of PNCs ended up in my hands a few days
ago. Upon checking the stamps I noticed that one of them (Scott number
2115) has the plate number ("1") inverted. This variation...

Album pages for the extended Scott classic catalog dates by
John Mycroft[_2_]
Gday, All - Scott have finally (and sensibly) extended their classic catalog to cover the British Commonwealth up to 1952, the end
of George VI's reign. I have a set of the Vintage Reproductions classic albums covering the period up to 1940. Does anyone know
if it is possible to get the extra...

Q: Paste-Up Pairs of Coil Stamps by
TL
I don't know if this is strictly a US question. I have a number of
paste-up pairs, specifically US Sc# 458 (hinged), 457 (hinged) and 394
Mint, plate #5424 with APS Cert. I'm evaluating these and am
wondering if what sort of premium is attached to them. Scott's doesn't
go into the values of...

RCSD - Storing Self-Adhesive Stamps? by
Fred Ziffle[_2_]
What sort of surface or backing do you store used self-adhesive stamps
on? I've received letters/tubes with stamps that peel off very easily.
That's nice for preservation of some gum and all, but they still have
enough adhesive to make storing them a challenge.

(RCSD) Help ID this Princess Diana / AIDS stamp by
Aaron Lawrence
Hi,
I'm the fellow who runs www.aidsonstamps.com, the topical homepage for
AIDS on stamps. I'm about to add one stamp to our listings, but I
can't figure out what year or what the Scott number is. (I confess, I
don't have ready access to the Scott guides).
Can someone help me ID this stamp? ...

Poste Italiane by
Tony Clayton[_2_]
For several years it has been difficult to get mint stamps of Italy
from Poste Italiane. They insisted on very expensive ways
of transferring money, which I usually got round by using either
Italian friends or others visiting Italy to pay for them there.
Then they developed a web site which...

SWITZERLAND SG63 15c YELLOW by
David Hicks[_2_]
Hi Folk
I have found a used copy of the above in an old album.
My question is , although you can see the basics of the design, it is not as
clear to the eye as the other colours
Is this standard for this stamp, or should it have a crisp design as per the
other colours please ?

Cardboard stamp by
Ralphael1
Here in the USA you mail a ordinary letter and USPS requires 41 cents
postage...however, if you slip a piece of cardboard in to prevent
folding USPS requires an additional 17 cents postage.
I think the 17 cent stamp should be called Cardboard Postage...:-)\
