Shows vs E-bay by
DAYK
I live on the West Coast and there are very few nonsport card shows out here.
Mostly sports card shows. That's one reason why I get my cards mostly on E-bay.
Another reason is that hardly anyone wants to trade anymore. Before E-bay,
trading was the main way of getting cards. If you look at this...

Oddball cards anyone? by
Lynne Stewart
So, anyone collect cards beyond the mainstream/main companies like
Rittenhouse, Topps, Inworks and so-on?
I've got binders filled with some of the craziest stuff..credit cards,
lottery tickets, membership cards, parody cards, that sort of thing?

Is anyone else fed up... by
Paul B.
....of all those seemingly pointless posts on here of late about some
individual apparently being the next worst thing to Satan? I don't know the
story behind them, and I don't want to, but posting here is not worth the
bother!

Card storage by
Lynne Stewart
How does everyone keep their cards safe?
Do you consider the lifespan of pages to be an issue? I swapped out all my
pages about 5 years or so aga as I was worried about the quality. Wonder if
I should swap out again soemtime so they don't cause age issues.
Anyone lose a good card to sun...

Garfield Boxes $4.99 at Suncoast. by
Jon Doyle
In case you missed it -- it was briefly discussed on Card Talk, although
specifics weren't allowed.
Apparently Pacific is no more, and they closed out all their Garfield
Movie boxes to Suncoast who was selling them for $4.99 a box.
A box will NOT yield a set.

Trading vs eBay by
MIKZCARDZ
DAYK touched on this topic.
I am as guilty as the next collector (maybe not all of them) when it comes to
trading or just looking for the best deal on eBay.
Classic example: I once turned down a trade for a Superman Doomsday Insert that
was listed in the NSU price guide for what I considered to...

wttf: T'Pol Costume Card / Binder by
JG Boutilier
Hi all, I'm in desire of the upcoming T'Pol Costume to be found in the
Binder.
I have a Complete DS9 Ezri Dax (deboer) Auto for Trade A15
from what I see, the A15 is more than twice the value of the binder and
costume, so should be a good trade.
please email direct,
thanks, jim

A one-off plug, but I have just set up a podcast covering Non-Sport trading
cards and the first episode (about 20 minutes or so) is now available. Not
on iTunes yet, but it has been submitted there and should be in the Games &
Hobbies/Hobbies section once iTunes approve it - in the meantime, it...

QUEST: LOTR Chrome by
MJB
Since folks here seem in the mood to discuss, I bought
1 box of the LOTR Chrome cards, and then packs from my local
comic shop.
From the full box I got 2 autos & 1 costume card (as expected).
From the packs I managed to get 1 costume card (a good one too !)
But, as far as they know, no autos were...

In the interests of starting discussions, I thought I'd post about software.
What software do people use to manage their collection and how good is it?
I originally built an Access database and that worked well enough and,
building it myself meant I could include what I wanted. I enter the...

Best way to get to rccn (this group) now? by
webjon
How does everyone use rec.collecting.cards.non-sports (rccn) now? I
can't seem to find a reliable news service that will allow me to post,
so I've been using my ISPs service to read messages, but I have to go
out to Google to post (it's a pain).
