FPN Kook of the Day! (or "FPN Torture Tests") by
The Drunken Lord
This is pretty good, about Noodler's Heart of Darkness:
begin quote
I've seen this with many of the Noodler's Eternal inks. The top layer
of the paper gets saturated, leaving some ink unbonded with the paper
sitting on top. It gets damp and smears, but the underlying mark will
never go...

Does one really need "bullet proof" inks by
MatthewK
Some recent expierences have made me question the need for permanent
inks. The inks that made me think of this recently are noodlers bp
black and platinum black.
An ink that smears is worse than one that washes away to me. I only have
two paper types noodlers does not smear on. Funnily enough the...

blue and waterproof--but not one that you can mix.
I had read about it on www.fountainpennetwork.com.
Finally, somebody comes up a bright blue waterproof ink and the ****
for brains FPN'ers are all whining about it because it...

A new community space for pen collectors! by
koll
Hello fellow collectors!
I've recently launched a site for collectors (both serious and casual) where anyone can upload data and pix of the things they love to collect. The idea is that collectors can form communities around their collection type, such as pens, and even sub-groups like Parker,...

Vulcanite pipe stems by
Dave[_11_]
I am not normally a visitor here, but my lunch time drinking
acquaintance is trying to bring his collection of smoking pipes back to
the original condition.
Problem is, a pipe stem made from vulcanite has taken on, not the black
colour that it should be, but a much lighter brown one. He knows...

Schaeffer history by
Help-Slip-Franklin
Can anyone point me to the "complete" history of The Schaeffer Pen Co? I've
done all the typical searches on the net but what I'd really like is the
history of all the pens they've made, model and year, ect... Thanks

True Writer Problem by
[email protected]
Hello
I received a beautiful, monogrammed True Writer for Christmas from my
wife. Love the pen in every way except it won't write. I can get the
thing started and it writes pretty good, but if I lay it down for a
couple of hours it won't write again. Is there a way to adjust the
feed to keep the...
