Albums... by
WhoCares
I am collecting souvenir sheets and mini-sheets mostly. I would like
to put them in albums but most of the systems i've seen are pretty
pricey. Are there any negative aspects for using magnetic-type photo
albums for stamps?
Thanks

The forgers progress. by
Rodney
I was surprised to read recently of the forgeries
of the 1995 German definitives showing buildings.
They got the perfs right, the colour, even the definition
is passable.
The only difference being a more yellowed paper,
and the phospor! glow is greenish white rather than yellow.

UK : The Queen's many hats. by

The regal reliable, Queen 'Liz has many hats,
this one however, could promote debate.
Apparently, on one little island territory close to home,
she is referred to officially as "The Lord of Man"
She, and my wife therefore, share the same title.... :)

removing hinges from stamps, watermarks by
gordon curry
Could someone tell me of a safe way of removing a hinge from a stamp already
in an old album? The stamp is used, Confederate States of America & I want
to send it in for expertizing but must remove the hinge first. Also, I find
it very hard to see watermarks using the fluid process, as it dries up...

Ribbed Gum on cover?? by
wolfb
This is a question for the German specialists out there. How can you tell
which direction the gum is ribbed when a stamp is on cover? It is pretty
easy if you have a mint stamp with gum, no problem there. The Michel
Specialized lists German Reich stamps on cover and also lists the gum...

Nossi-Be ??? by

I have just acquired a huge collection of French Colonies, and going through
them was like looking into a world long gone! They were all easily
identifiable, except for this one:

Canada - Circular Cancels? by
amesh \(Mette\)
Some time ago Blair (TC) mentioned in a thread which I can no longer find,
that the Canadian Grizzly, issued 1997 (Scott # 1700) would command a
premium if sold used with a nice circular cancel.
My question is, whether nice circular cancels were still common at
"Grizzly-Times" in 1997 ?
I am...

Discussion group for French Colonies? by

Does anyone know of an online discussion group about the French Colonies,
preferably in English, alternatively in French? I've searched Yahoo, but
didn't find any. Given that I have a fair collection, I'd really like to
learn more about this fascinating collecting area, that is new to me.

Newbie Question on Cancels... by
WhoCares
I'm just starting to collect recent issue world stamps. Many of the
foreign post offices i've visited on the Web provide a choice of mint
stamps or cancelled in various manners (corners, sides, centered)
etc.. I always thought that mint was preferred, but now i'm not sure.
Any thoughts or...
