How can I even begin to thank you? by
Chrysta
Many times I have been humbled by the generosity of the people who read
and post here, but this just takes the cake. I haven't been on RCC for
over a month, so imagine my surprise when packages started arriving on
my doorstep today for my little angel...words fail me. Of all the acts
of random...

stamp collecting somehow more civilized by
Keith Michaels
Are you tired of sleaze-ball dealers that rip off your grandmother?
Then join the civilized world of stamp collecting. Since making the
switch I enjoy my hobby more, make more money, and have lost weight
all due to the nice stamp collectors that treat each other with
respect, and always encourage...

From the CoinWorld issue of July 7, 2003.

"Karats" by weight or volume? by
Don A. Gilmore
Hi guys:
Are karats (like of gold) measured by weight or by volume? Most of what I
read implies that karats are measured by weight (24k being pure gold), but
that just doesn't make any sense. If karats are determined by weight, you
would have to know exactly what the alloying metals were to...

Portland ANA show, attend Friday or Saturday? by
David Hamilton
I'm making plans to attend this show. It will be the first major show
I will have the pleasure to attend. I am tentativally planning on
going Friday. My thoughts are the crowds will be smaller, and the
inventory will be less picked through. Would there be any compelling
reason to go on Saturday...

quarter by
[email protected]
i just saw a virgin islands quarter. it is my favorite and actually the only
state quarter design i truly like. it has a sparseness and economy of design
that works well. uncluttered, unfettered by background noise and really
representative of that part of the world, it looks like the where it's...

Maximizing the Piggy Bank: RESULTS by
Louis Nick III
-- Introduction & Abstract
You may recall from a year ago that I was conducting an experiment to
maximize the savings of my piggy bank, and had calculated the value-
density of the 7 circulating US coins. Please accept this report of the
experiment's first trial completion. The result suggests...

FA: Medals, world paper money, world coins and other stuff by
Cliff
Just listed tonight. A grouping of old medals, some big, some little
and some other collectible stuff. I have a ton of world paper money
and if this sells I'll have a lot more up. If it doesn't I'll take it
to the Quickie Mart and I'm pretty sure I'll have some notes from
someones home country...

What is your oldest dated coin (show and tell) by

Thought it would be an interesting post to see what collectors have as their
oldest
dated coin. Not their oldest but the oldest with a date. I have older
coins but
the one I have with the oldest date is:
