Stamp collection insurance by
KenK
Have any of you ever had a claim on stamp collection insurance? What
proof do they require if the albums were destroyed or stolen? Inventory
records of all stamps? I doubt if .01% of collectors do that. Guess of
how many common issues and inventory of stamps costing $5 or $10 or $100
or...

I think that was not meant to be offensive - merely a ( humerous )
comment as to what would be referred to by an upper-class Brit at the
time ( which WAS meant to be offensive! ). One would not use the term
"Boche" other than in the WW1 context - and then as a swipe at the
aforementioned...

Richard Tauber by
Tony Vella
Franz Léhar is represented on quite a number of Austrian stamps and yet
there is not a single stamp of Richard Tauber who arguably revived Léhar's
career when it had already flagged. Considering that between '25 and '34
Léhar wrote six operettas specifically for Tauber (became known as...

Ripped and torn stamps. by
rodney
.... a further consideration may include the instances
where stamps have been torn purposely as a cancellation method.
Was it the early stamps of Afghanistan that had the corners bitten off?
Certainly it would include some cinderellas, the Coolgardie Express labels.

do not keep stamps issued later than December 31, 1959, I was...

Those illustrated are machine cancellations, but they aren't meters.
There is no indication of postage having been paid.

impression.
Whilst John's reasoning above, seems to fit, it really does not define

Turkish semi-postal overprints by

I have several Turkish semi-postals of the Postage Commemoration issue of

overprinted red. However, I see no indication of this in Scott. Scott
gives the impression that all four are overprinted blue. I was wondering...
