Little Long Rapids, Ontario by
malcolm
I have a postmark for this place on a pair of QE2 Cameo stamps
( 1954).
After extensive searches on the internet I have found out that this is
a Hydro Electric Power Station in the middle of nowhere. The Power
Supply company website records that there was a temporary township for
construction...

1940's Canadian stamps by
steve_PE
I have a few used 3 cent Prince Edward Island postal stamps from 1942/43 time frame. They are in decent condition. Are these worth anything? There are at least 3 different graphics used on them.
Thanks

OT Professor of skating. by
rodney
During my research into postcards,
I was reading a New Zealand Newspaper October 1888
and one item of court appearances, had a fellow
appearing for theft, and he was described as a "Professor of Skating"
Anybody have an idea on that that is?
Thanks

Any ideas about this? by
Ian Cox
Some while ago I found this in amongst a quantity of Greek stamps.
I appreciate that it’s totally worthless but anybody any idea what
it’s for or where it came from.
The reverse is also shown and what you can see appears to be a very
thin layer of paper rather than something printed on the stamp....

Need contact in Brazil by
Tony Vella
Just before Christmas I lost a good friend of 30 years, a fellow translator
who came originally from Portugal, translated Portuguese for the federal
government for many years, retired in Rio and took up stamp collecting (and
Chopin). We both retired in '95, drifted apart but stayed in touch. ...

US stamps Blue Paper by
phantomm_1
Can someone provide an example of a older US Stamp that was
printed on Blue-Grey paper?
Also, any other older US stamps with different types of paper would be nice
to look at.
(When I say older, I mean from the 1900's to 1940's)
I've nothing against stamps from a earlier period or the latest...
