Secondhand bookshops housed in unusual buildings by
igs
Which secondhand bookshop is housed in the most unusual/interesting
building?
I will start the ball rolling with Over-Sands Books, in Grange-Over-
Sands, North-West England. This is located in a former waiting-room on
one of the platforms of the (still in use) railway station there.
Any others?

Zane Grey collection by
InOvations
I have what I think is a complete collection of Zane Grey books and
stories. This was printed sometime after 1979 and is in near perfect
condition. There are 65 books in total, plus two duplicates. They
belonged to my father-in-law who recently passed away and his wife
asked me if I would find out...

Older Bibliophile-Writer Seeks Same by
[email protected]
Hello, I'm a 59 year old bibliophile and long time San Francisco
resident who's into reading and writing non-fiction almost
exclusively; and mostly it's all sorts of national, state, and local
history, political science, and some sociology.
I have two first draft manuscripts mostly done. One is a...

produce bags by
Allan Adler
Suppose I take a new, plastic produce bag and put a perfectly good
book in it. Optional whether to leave it open or close it. Can this
result in any damage to the book, such as encouraging molds? I think
this might be more likely with the bag closed, but I don't know. The
reason I'm asking is that...

Is book content being tampered with? by
seeker[_2_]
I have wondered if anyone has noticed if they have observed text
changes between successive printings of the same book? It seems i have
encountered some books that had different content when going from
hardcover to paperback ,as if the original piece is being edited or
censored in subsequent...

Up One Flight of Stairs by
Bill[_2_]
I am sitting here in the upstairs office with the work of the
day finished -- at least as much of the work of the day
that I have any intention of doing. You could say I am
reflecting, I guess, as I watch the lights of the traffic
winding along the street down the hill.
..
Here is what is on my...

Ever find interesting things in books? by
Matt J. McCullar
I was unloading some books at my local Half-Price Books store this afternoon
and the clerk was talking with another customer about things that other
readers have accidentally left behind in their books. I joked that they
should have an "Is This Yours?" display case of such items, but she said
that...

Antique Shakespeare Set by
Trip
Hello all,
Looking for a little help here. I recently lost a complete set of
Antique Shakespear books in a seperation and I don't know if there
worth going after via the courts. I was hope to get a ball park
estimate as to their worth.
It was 13 or 14 books in total, each book roughly five...

I hope I'm not misusing this group by mentioning to dictionary
collectors out there that I am offering an original Merriam Webster
dictionary on Ebay this week. I am not a dealer, but an individual who
discovered this rare book in the attic of my house. I apologize in
advance if this sort of post...
