Mozambique Revisited by
R. Carvish
About those coins coming up at better prices... Mozambique 1 centimo came
up for 19.95, and the seller has several with a 24.95 BIN price on it.
Looks like that's a good price for this coin, way below catalog. Maybe in
time the other ones issued in 1975 will show up at good prices.
Cheers,
Colleen

Number of Sets You are Working on? Lack of Focus? by
The Silver Jar...
With regards to British seventeenth-eighteenth century silver;
I like 'em, too, Sylvester. I have a question for you that I have
posted
here in the past with no satisfactory answer to date. It has to do
with the
silver sixpences, shillings, and halfcrowns of the late 1600s and
early
1700s. ...

ANA hotel reservations for San Francisco by
Ken Barr
The San Francisco ANA hotel reservation site is up at:
https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=18615
I'm told that the Milano is a nice "boutique" hotel ... at $125 per
night single or double it is QUITE a bargain in San Francisco, and
should be snapped up quickly.
The...

Please excuse my ranting .. but .. . aaarrggghhh by
D. Jaeby
RANT CONTINUED:
Why do people on ebay expect sellers to not make some money off their items
and/or shipping. THIS IS WHY !!!
Take for example this one sale:
12 transit tokens sold for a whopping big $1.54
I charged only $2 shipping plus insurance $1.30.
TOTAL SALE: $4.84

Cool Find and Help in Valuation by
dmzcompute
I have always been fasinated by error coins. In my collection I have a
nickel which was struck on a cent planchet and also a quarter struck on
a cent planchet, both certified by PCGS. Today getting a couple of
cheesburgers without the buns at MacDonalds I received 3 quarters in
change. One fell...

Toronto Group status by
Reid Goldsborough
Anybody know what happened to the Toronto forger, commonly referred to
as the "Toronto Group" (though there's no indication that more than
one person is/was behind this ancient coin forgery scam)?
This scammer seems to be inactively lately, after nearly three years,
and about 40 rounds, of scam...

Opinions - When to Pay for Insurance? by
Ron
Just curious,,, at what dollar value do most people add shipping
insurance when it is optional (buying through E-Bay)?
I rarely bother when buying items $10 - $15 or less but at $20 I
start to consider it. At $30 and up I would probably always get
insurance.
I've had good luck with all my e-bay...

FA: 1793 Liberty Cap Cent PCGS Good-4 by
Ira Stein
Actually, this coin with it's smooth original color and non-porous surafces is
a condition rarity in this grade. VF20's now sell for over $30,000, and low
grade coins like this are generally heavily corroded. Only about 200 exist in
all grades, and no uncs are known. I hoped that this coin, EAC...

State Quarters turning brown by
Dave
Hello,
I have a small question. I have a State Quarters collection, and my coins
are gradually turning brown. The details of the Quarters are as follows:
1) Quarters were gathered from typical pocket change, not proofs
2) Stored in white mylar coin flaps inserted in vinyl pages, in an...

Hi all,
question for the silver collectors. When do the Mexican 2005 Silver
Libertad come out. The reason I need to know is that my daughter is
finally graduating from college. She'll finally be paid off. Only took
22 years to pay for that 10 mins of fun. Anyway, I am trying to get her
as many...

An Interesting Barber Quarter Experience by
Larry Louks
Howdy, friends!
I've been doing eBay for several years now. After a 25-year spell of doing
absolutely nothing in the way of collecting, I decided to put together a set
of Barber Quarters in G-VG. I bought a number of them on eBay and in a year
or so, I had gathered up all but the "big three" in...

It is happening to me again--Teletrade reserves by
Mark A. Behrens
I have to vent...
For the second time in a month, I am bidding on a coin at Teletrade where
the reserve is within a couple of dollars of full retail for the coin
(figuring in the commission and postage.) I have bid one increment under
the (hidden) reserve. I would have to bid one increment over...

BEWARE - Bogus Postal Money Orders by
K6AZ
I was just down at the post office. One tip I was given years ago is to cash the postal money orders
fist, then ship the item. Well, this tip finally paid off today. I had a web purchase that totalled
$720. The clerk informed me that this MO was on their hot list, in other words it was one that...
