number line 9876543210 by WDruid24
I have been a book collector/seller for about five months, and am familiar with some of the ways in which publishers indicate the particular printing of a book. Recently I came across a W. W. Norton edition with the number line "9876543210." If there were a one in the last place I would assume...

Books written by spirits -- any collectors? by Al Smith
I've got a couple of books that are probably pretty rare that were written by discarnate entities. Spirits. You know, boo-o-o-o-o-o! Booga-booga! A lot of folks don't know that spiritual beings can write books. Well, they do it a lot. You're probably familiar with some of the more famous ghost...

Williston Walker book question by krik999
Hi. I recently picked up a copy of On the Increase of Royal Power in France Under Philip Augustus 1179-1223 (a dissertation presented to the philosophical faculty of the University of Leipzig for a Docotorate Degree) by Williston Walker. The text was published by Gressner & Schram in Leipzig in...

Book re-binding for fun, not repairs by [email protected]
Does anybody out there know of services that will re-bind books (paperback to hardcover, for example) for people that want it done for personal collections, and not for repairs? Hopefully cheaper than these "conservators" charge? This came to mind when I was browsing online for an original...

Just got a shipment of the books I bought at Adams Avenue Bookshop in San Diego. Among a nice lot of convertiana, I got: Thomas R. Ryan, C.PP.S., *Orestes A. Brownson: A Definitive Biography* (1976), which somehow never made it into my collection before. This copy is a bit worn, but signed by...

FS: "Beasts of Brahm" Midnight House edition by aycorn
This is the Midnight House reprint of the impossibly rare 1930's supernatural thriller by Mark Hansom. The book is in as close to mint condition as a book that's been read once can be. I'm asking $30 plus shipping. Write me off list if interested.

Value of super rare books? by Billy Bob
Say a book is so rare that it is not listed for sale anywhere (AddAll, Amazon, etc.), and it only brings up one or two web sites when searching google.com. (Those web sites being lists of books held by private collections.) I assume that the book would be worth more because it is so rare? How...

General rule for added value of autograph? by Billy Bob
Is there any general rule as to how much more a book is worth if it is signed by the author? Say worth 50% more or something? (This would be for most cases where the author is not a "super famous" person like a president, sports legend, etc.)
