Uncut signatures normal or no? by
Whiteleather
I have several "Complete works of..." sets with uncut signatures. For
instance all of my "Complete Works of Dickens" printed in 1902 have to
have the front edges cut every 4 pages or so. At the end, the top
edges need to be cut. The same is true of my fancy bound
"...Thackeray".
At first I...

Ok, so the title is a little misleading and the following post long, I
rarley ask a question on the value of a book and thats not really what
I am doing now but rather HOW to value a books that have no equal.

AWB and other defects that increase value ? by
WertmanTheMad
Ok,
I've got a bit of an odd question, we recently purchased a collection
of books from a professor of childrens literature. She was sent well
in excess of 15k books from the mid 60's until the early 80's fro just
about every publisher I have ever heard of and a few I have not. MOST
are MM PB and...

Collecting categories by
Were Tiger
When I began collecting in the 1960s, the most common collecting
category after modern firsts was Americana. That could be general,
defined by period or theme . There does not seem to be as much of that, at
least at New York book fairs. Two pioneers, batting the ball back and
forth between them...

Old Books on Famous Women by
WeeWilly
After my parents died, I found a couple/few books in the garage that are
about famous women. These are from the late 1800's. The covers aren't in
great shape, but the books themselves seem to be complete and without bug or
other damage. Just wondering if there might be any value in them to...

A Separate Peace...John Knowles by
Weathers123
I recently found a copy dated 1959....from the International Collectors Library.
Now, I know that most of ICL's books aren't really worth anything.
But, I'm just wondering if "A Separate Peace" might be worth a bit more than some of the others. I know that it is a sought after book...or so I have...

the market in second-hand e-books by

A bit early for a consensus on "collectibility" of e-books to have
