Slabbed Proof Set by
Aladdin Sane
I recently purchased a set of 1950 Proof coins. The coins were individually
slabbed by PCGS and assigned grades from PF65 to PF67. This was to be my
birth year proof set.
When the set arrived and I was better able to inspect the coins, I was quite
dismayed to see the surfaces. I could agree...

New U.S. $100 Bill by
[email protected]
Has anyone here, heard or read anything on when the new $100 bill will
be unveiled? It was supposed to be issued in late 2008, and now, in
2009, it has not even been unveiled yet. I'm guessing that this is
because of Barack Obama taking office, and choosing a Treasury
Secretary. But how much longer...

keeping pennies red by
yawnmoth
It seems to me that pennies turn red due to one of two possible
reasons - skin oil or oxidation. If the former, just putting them in
a coin album or a ziploc bag or whatever should be sufficient to keep
them red. If the latter... would placing them in a bottle of
distilled water do the trick? ...

Sending letters to Congress by
[email protected]
I know people hate when I ask these questions, but I must ask, when
would be a good time to send my coin and currency redesign issues to
the 2009 Congress? Am I supposed to wait until Barack Obama takes
office? I'm thinking I should, but I want to be 100% sure.

PCGS Slab Question by
[email protected]
I'm looking at a 2007 Adams dollar (double edge lettering, inverted)
in a PCGS holder. One side of the slab has the standard PCGS grade,
coin description, PCGS number and bar code. The other side of the
slab just shows the colorful PCGS sticker; there is no "Presidential
Series" label. Does...

Stamps & Coins: Will dollar coins make paper dollars obsolete? by
Arizona Coin Collector
Hello
On the story below.
I don't think the United States Treasury will stop printing
replacement one-dollar bills. In the history of congress,
it is very rare to have them go back and make a change
to a "public law" in regards to currency production.
I hope 2009 will be a much better year for...

Another place that accepts USA$1 coins by
Michael G. Koerner
I note that within the past few weeks, the newsstand price of USAToday went
from $0.75 to $1.00 (Grrrr...). Just for the h*** of it, I tried it. Yepper,
even though they don't say it, their vending boxes do accept $1 coins. :-)
