Westward Journey Arrives by
Bruce Remick
I finally received my one Westward Journey Nickel Series set today.
According to the tracker, it was sent on its way on 19 Jan, languished until
24 Jan, and then was apparently hand-carried to my house in Virginia,
arriving five days later.
I have to say that's about the butt-ugliest "medal" I...

FA: Partial Type Set lot, 1893 Columbia Commem, others by
John Ahnen
I have put several items on ebay, just because I was bored during the ice
storm. There is a partial type set of 19 coins, a nice 1893 Columbian
Commem half, a 1971 Lincoln (NTC MS-68 RD), and a 1883-O Morgan MS-62 (PCGS
old holder), and two 1999 $5 Maple Leafs.

ebay 2nd chance by
Rick
got a question about the ebay second chance. I bid on a silver coin and
was outbid at the last min. The auction ended at 18:11. At 18:39 I
received a second chance email. Hardly enough time for a buyer to reject
the sell. Does this sound like a seller trying to
bid up their own auction? Or maybe a...

The French and Rooster by
Jorg Lueke
The rooster, as a stand alone device and as part of a cap recurrs quite
often in French coinage. What gives? How did a rooster get itself on so
many coins?

Attending my first coin show tomorrow by
bill
In boucherville, Quebec, around 60 dealers. I was wondering if my
collection focus which is old Canadian pennies and 5 cents is not be the
kind of 'large ticket' pieces dealers take the time to bring to such events.
I hope they do bring some old circulation coins and not just tokens or
exotic...

A near miss! Austrian medal on eBay by
Dale Hallmark
A group of items that I collect when they don't go for outrageous
prices (for no apparent reason) is 20th century Austrian medals.
I don't attempt to collect an example of all of them (actually in practice I
do) but I tend to
(try) to concentrate on certain artist that I like their work.
I...

airtite album question by

Hi RCC,
Can anyone recommend an album for storing coins in airtites? The coins
are from the US and come in all sizes - A, H, T, and I. I was thinking of
getting an album for each size. What does RCC recommend?
Thanks,
PS - I'm looking at the airtite albums from Brent-Kruger. They have a

Cringe or Clap? by
Larry Louks
Hi Friends,
Much has been written about toning in this group. Some love it; some
hate it. I just a moment ago looked at a set of BU Franklins in my safe
deposit box. They're housed in a blue Whitman folder where you can see
both sides of the coin, similar to Dansco. It's been a while since...
