Q: Art stamps on the Internet ?? by
amesh
This is an ooold question, raised by me about 2-3 years ago, but here goes
again.
I have recently been contacted by the Danish Copyright Organisation
(Copy-Dan), who has notified me that according to European copyright
legislation it is not allowed to show stamps or philatelic material on...

WARNING - Avoid Edmonton Stamp Show=Avoid Thefts!! by
Ernst Zundholz
A WARNING TO ALL, about the upcoming Edmonton Stamp Show.
AVOID, and you will not have your material STOLEN, as has been
happening regularly the past few years!!
Just ask Bob Kane of central B.C., for his comments as published in
APS!!
a reply to argue is a waste of my time... kk

What are we collecting. How many participants could be here. by
Victor Manta
I have noticed (but I can be wrong) that the number of postings in RCSD
decreased in the last time. Isn't it a bit strange, especially when
considering that on news:fr.rec.philatelie (the stamps NG in French) there
are more and more postings, and anyway more than here?
For this reason I wonder how...

Don't change the subject line, please! by
Toke Nørby
When you answer to a posting in a thread - please don't change the
subject line as my news reader turn that answer into a brand new
posting - outside the original thread. It is much easier for (I'm
sure) most of us to keep the relevant posting in the original thread
if you leave the subject line...

Zimbabwe Inflation (update) by
Blair (TC)
The latest official inflation figure for February is reportedly
165,000%.
Should the inflationary pressure maintain its recent momentum till

worsening to 24,672,000% by year end.
Once inflation reaches such high...

Where did all the collectors go? by
Dakota
Hey all:
There was an article in the November 24th issue of Linn's - not really
an article, rather a disclosure, giving their subscription statistics.
All publications are required by law (here in the US) to publish this
information once yearly. Many newspapers publish it in every issue -
but, I...

Stamp Collecting future? by
Dave
I just returned from a local stamp bourse. To be honest it looked
more like a gathering of the AARP (Assoc. of Retired People). I feel safe
to believe that the only person there under the age of 40 was a young girl
who was obviously with her stamp dealer dad (wether she collects... only dad
can...

They deserve a stamp by
Victor Manta
The folk singers Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel reunited this fall, twenty
years after their separation, for a concert tour of North America.
I believe that the authors of unforgettable "El Condor Pasa", "The Sparrow",
and "The Sound of Silence" deserve a stamp, and this *before* they pass by.
The...

Abuse of email address by
Mette
It appears that some jerk is abusing my very private email
address, that is not published anywhere on the Internet,
neither on websites nor in newsgroups, nor eBay, nor PayPal,
nor elsewhere. Thus, spam is now constantly generating on
that address!
This can only mean that I myself have given my...

(RCSD) OT - I am back by
Ralphael1
I have been out of touch for a short period and the retturn may be
short lived.
I changed servers to Verizon and there has been nothing but trouble
since. Verizon has crashed twice, the last time taking OE and IE with
it. I know I have 51 messages in my AOL mail box but cannot get access
to AOL.

The First Art Stamp Ever? by
amesh
Collectors of Art Stamps have often discussed which was the first art
topical stamp to be issued. Some say that this collecting area began with
the French art series in the early 1960's, while others believe that it may
be the French stamp from 1849 depicting Ceres, and yet others that it was
the...

OT - saving images by
Ralphael1
I frequently copy stamp images from websites and save them to folders
in My Documents.
I have the option of saving as GIF, JPEG or Windows Bitmap. Which of
the three is the preferrred way to go.
What about saving in My Documents? Is there a better way?
Thanks,
Ralphael, the OLD one

Help with "INDIA" by
S
I would appreciate information about collecting the postage stamps
issued by the Republic of India.
As a long-time collector of worldwide stamps, it is impossible to
"complete" the entire World, so from time to time my efforts are
focused on specific areas. Several years ago, UNESCO data...

Why is Bottom-posting better than Top-posting
By A. Smit and H.W. de Haan
Definitions:
Top-posting: Writing the message above the original text,
when one replies to an email or a post in a newsgroup.
Bottom-posting: The opposite of top-posting. Now the
new message is placed below the original...

Mint or used? by
Grandpa
I'm curious, as to whether you collect mint or used stamps for your
primary country(s)? I collect used mainly but do snag a few mint ones
here and there if the price is right.
