Uniball or Pilot Precise? by
Justin Pate
Which is better and why?
I like Pilot Precise because I like the needle point. I know Sanford has
those Vision Exact uniball ones out, but they're still not as good as the
Pilot Precise.

Christmas Stocking Stuffer - pen related by
Greg Clark
Hi All!
Christmas is closer than you think - give them the Fountain
Pen Ink Sampler book this season!
Nowhere else can anyone see actual hand dipped samples of 380 current
and vintage fountain pen inks. No where else can they find the measured
pH, tested water resistance and tested resistance to...

Received my Mento by
Nellie Paris
This thing is huge. Phallic. :-) By far, the biggest pen in my
collection of several hundred.
It writes beautifully in a fine nib, which runs toward XF, to me a
plus.

Now the Laban Mentor... by
Nellie Paris
I read that the Mentor is a smaller version of the Mento. Does anyone
know if this one is available in a fine nib? I have only seen it in
medium.
The big one is very cool and beautiful, but I am not sure I want it
knocking around at work.

New Parker 51 - Type of Ink? by
derprediger
Thanks to all for the advice regarding the purchase of a Parker 51.
It's on it's way. What are your recommendations regarding ink?
Didn't the 51's use some kind of quick drying ink?
All answers appreciated!

Chinese Fountain Pen Quality by
Prometheus7
I'm curious about the quality of the Chinese fountain pens that are often
advertise in this group. Everyone seems to write reviews about the well
known pens like Parker, Waterman, Rotring, etc., but rarely do I see
anything written as to the comparable quality of the Asian pens. The pens
seem to...

Parker 51 - Ink Stains on Fingers by
mcgheep7
I have a Parker 51 aerometric fountain pen. The pen writes very well
and very consistently. I always store the pen in an upright position
when not being used. My problem is that I get ink stains on my fingers
where I hold the pen at the clutch ring area. I've noticed that there
is no problem...

Parker pencils by
bdd
Does anyone know if a Parker pencil from the 1970's that has a twist
mechanism and uses 0.9mm leads can be updated with a new cartridge that
uses 0.5mm leads? Note - it has to remain a twist mechanism.

Water and bleach cheap pen test by
JEBEDIAH DUPREE
After spending all week wasting time at work reading all your cheap pen
reviews, I've added my own. I want to mention that Office Depot's pen
selection was awful. I then went to Staples, and I was amazed at how
organized everything was, and the selection was great.
I settled on 3 kinds:
Pilot P500...

Can't find Pilot pens in the style I want by
JEBEDIAH DUPREE
I read good things about the Pilot P-500, so I went to go buy some. I
went to Office Depot but all they had was the P-700. So should I shop
allover town trying to find one? I will end up spending 20 bucks on gas.
Should I order online? It seems like overkill for pens. Anyone have any
tips?

Fountain Pen INk Sampler by
Greg Clark
Hi All!
Greg Clark here. I haven't been following this pen forum for a while.
I have been too tied up with life recently!
I want to put in a shameless plug for my book - "Fountain Pen Inks - a
Sampler".
For those that are unfamiliar with the book - it contains about 380
actual hand painted...

Cleaning up after by
Curtis L. Russell
No, not the squirting ink on the desk thing.
When I refill a pen in less than perfect ink bottles, I've been using
Kleenex/tissues to clean up the area around the nib and comb. Far less
than perfect and it can sometimes suck enough off the pen to pass
through to my fingers, which rather misses the...

Phileas vs Kultur by
Nellie Paris
Hello,
I recently purchased a black Waterman Phileas. It writes beautifully
in a fine nib, as do all of my other pens of this model.
Unusual is that the cap band is missing, yet there is a ridge where
that band would normally be. The nib is all gold in color, rather
than 2-tone, and the etched...
