cheap italian fountain pens by
Gregg Gibson
I got a pack of a dozen Italian piston fillers recently on ebay. They
have cute, tapered plastic bodies, medium-narrow and semiflex
gold-plated fine nibs. Very light-weight. Also an ink window. Nothing
fancy, but they write as well as anything I've tried up to about $50 a
pen, and they were only...

Source for ink sacs by
John B. Egger
What's the best place to mail-order a new ink sac (bladder) for the
converter of my Parker 45? If I'm paying shipping costs it probably
would make sense to pick up a couple of others too, spares for my 51
Aerometric, for example.
I'm in Maryland.

I have a good collection of modern Mont Blanc's, and have just bought my
first 'vintage' - a 3-44G
Any suggestions as to books I can get on the older Mont Blanc's to assist in
building my collection?
I am in the UK.

Diplomat ink by
Baubles
Can anyone tell me anything about "Diplomat" brand ink? I
got given a bottle of Diplomat Royal Blue for my birthday
recently, but can't find any information on the company that
makes it. I'm not even sure it's fountain pen ink - I'm
assuming it is. The bottle didn't come in a box - it's a
small...

Sheaffer Nostalgia by
Paul G
Hi All,
Just picked up a very nice "older" vermeil Nostalgia.
Can anyone tell me what year these were offered, and what nib is
correct?
Of the two left in the tray, one had a yellow 14k nib, and the other a
two-tone 18k.
Thanks much,
Pelikanyo Paul (who likes a Sheaffer or two)

Poor ink flow in Cross Townsend Anthracite by
Code4u
I'm having trouble getting consistent performance from my Cross pen.
When using Private Reserve black ink the flow is beautiful for a while
and then it gets thin. If I clean everything in warm water and refill
it's ok for a while before degrading in the same way. Help would be
much appreciated.

silicone grease by
Garglemonster
I found some silicone grease in the plumbing section of the hardware
store. The packaging doesn't list the ingredients, so i'm a bit
hestitant to use it. It's from Moen, the plumbing supply outfit, and
it's supposedly for faucets. Does anyone know if this stuff is safe?
thanks in...

Pencil lead by
[email protected]
I have several vintage pencils that take 1.1 mm lead. There seems to
be 2 kinds. One is a hard lead that lays down a light line and the
other is a softer lead that lays down a dark line. I'm looking for
the latter.
Thank you kindly.
