Ink Reviews: Orange, Apricot Orange, Quick Lime by
Bluesea[_3_]
Conway Stewart Orange:
It looks reddish in the bottle, but is plainly orange juice on paper. The
resemblance is so remarkable that I wanted some juice to make sure. (I don't
keep OJ on hand.) Fortunately, a TV commercial for OJ made from Valencia
oranges played and I verified that it, indeed, is...

osmiroid 65 pen question by
wolfy
I just got an Osmiroid 65 lettering set in its original box. But the
lever fill in the pen does not work-is it repairable?

how to use ink refill? by
Tiro Verus
Trying to learn how to use a fountain pen. Got one
from eBay. The vendor sent 5 refills, but there wasn't
one in the pen itself. There's a little plunger thing
in the pen, in a little cylinder.
I'd buy one from someone in Real Life (tm) but haven't
seen anything remotely affordable.
Any...

Fountain Pen Network Moderator Guidelines! by
The Drunken Lord[_2_]
You know, I feel sorry for those dip**** FPN moderators who have to
read all the posts on FPN. There are three or so moderators on each
forum who have to--or are supposed to--read all of the stupid and
meaningless comments posted on FPN. That makes up about 98% of what
is posted on FPN.
Here are...

The New FPN Ink! by
The Drunken Lord[_2_]
The ugliest inks I have are the FPN Galileo and the FPN Dumas--the FPN
Dumas should be called "FPN Dumbass" as the horrid color was selected
by the dumbasses of FPN, with the FPN moderators and administrators
have a little more say than the average FPN dumbasses.
I am surprised Nathan Tardif would...

Two More Baystate Colors! by
The Drunken Lord[_2_]
I went to FPN today and learned that Nathan Tardif has mixed up two
more Baystate colors. Some kind of cranberry--a red--and a purple. I
think these are supposed to be as vibrant as the blue, HOWEVER, the
red is NOT waterproof, which is a bummer. But the thing is, even if
the blue were not...

funny leaky fountain pen story by
MatthewK
I work at an IT Center Helpdesk on my campus and a coworker stole a
converted platinum preppy pen to annoy me. She unscrewed it, and had
blue fingers for two days. :)
It was filled with diamine registrars ink and I only lost a few drops of
ink....it was so worth it.
BTW, I've never had any...

I bought this because I want to write in lime green ink and because I wanted
to see what a pen that lets you write on a grain of rice is like.

FPN Idiot of the Day: SamCapote! by
The Drunken Lord
from the FPN idiot of the day:
I love the Baystate Blue color, but I would NEVER have dreamed that
any ink would permanently stain a plastic used in a fountain pen. As a
relative novice in this hobby, I could have used dark color pen if I
had been warned. I don't know if all inks stain plastics...

Fountain Pens. What's the attraction? by
The Visitor[_2_]
Okay guys, I'm curious if anybody will share their reason for liking
fountain pens.
I like them because they take me back to what I feel were better times.
It's real writing. Seems more cultured perhaps.
I got wondering about this because I read this newspaper article about
people still...

Another FPN Idiot! (or microwaving ink!) by
The Drunken Lord
Here's the post:
begin quote
Instead of using an ink additive, e.g. SterilInk, I have been
pondering the possibility of putting my ink in the microwave and
nuking it in order to kill off any microorganisms that may be growing
in it. (i.e. oomycetes, mildew, algae...)

Pelikan Fountain Pens by
Sonny
First of all, I am not a fountain pen expert. I have a few pens that are
supposed to be worth collecting. But I own mostly new pens that I have
purchased over the past five or six years. So my comments are my opinion
only.
My first fountain pen was a gift from my mom. She received it in...

FPN Retard of the Day! by
The Drunken Lord
SamCapote wins the retard of the day award, and in the coming months,
this guy is gonna be hard to top, even though idiots run freely and
rampantly on FPN.
We have seen how Sam "permanently" stained his bathroom sink and then
scrubbed the sink clean before his wife got home, removing...
