1943/2 P Nickel? by
[email protected]
Just won a small little auction on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170010923993&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:US:12
Check the second coin. What do you think? I don't think it has a
repunched date. That leaves...

1943P Nickel...Again by
[email protected]
Got the coins today: 1943P and 1943D. Haven't taken pictures of them
yet. Will wait until better light in the AM for that.
Here's the odd thing I've noticed on both coins, which is not mentioned
on the auction site: both appear to have doubled 3.
I wouldn't say that either one has the 3/2...

1943s Steel Cents by
Mame
I feel silly mentioning this but I thought it was a nice coincidence that
the very next day after reading about the 1943 Steel Cents that I would find
two of them in my dealers bargain box. I paid 10cents Australian each for
them. I also bought two nice wheat cents 1957d and 1944s for the same...

1944 Lincoln cent error (peeling planchet) by
ZaphodJ9
I have a 1944 Lincoln head wheat penny in good condition with a peeling
planchet. It looks like the "We Trust" part of the coin is peeling away. I've
had this coin since I was a child and wondered if anyone could give me an
estimate of it's value or direct me to a place where I can find the value...

1944 penny by
Greg Shilts
Looking for information on the 1944D D/S penny. Recently I was looking at my
wheat cent's and found that my 1947 S has a mound underneath the mint mark.
The mound looks like the shape of a D mint mark but can find no information
on this at all the research pages. Does anyone know of any diagnostic...

1944 proof lincoln???!!!! by
icky
I known its says the mint never minted any proof lincolns in 1944.
What would be the chance that that is a fib?
I think I have one. Too shiney and mirror fields. Beat up abit since it
was in circulation, and no it hasn't been polished, since it shines right
up through the base of all lettering...

1944 quarter in change last night by
Dave Hinz
Cafeteria at the local hospital - bought my lunch, and heard that
wonderful tinkling noise in the change. A 1944 (P) quarter, in VF, give
or take. I haven't seen a silver quarter in circulation, I think, ever.
And the funny thing was, my Washingtoon books I've just been building
from "junk...

1944-D Updated Pics by

Thank you again everyone for your input today. It never ceases to amaze
me how helpful you all are. I have been knocking around Usenet Groups
since the mid 1990's and have yet to see a group as helpful and
respectful to one another. Not to say that you all don't chew each
other's heads off every...

1944s dime date doubled? by
[email protected]
Yeah, here I am again, guys.
Today's 2 hours on the microscope looking over more Mercs yielded a
surprise, one that I haven't found covered in any books: a 1944s with
full date doubled. While the doubling is obvious under 50x, I'm not
sure it's going to be obvious under 10x.
Anyone else heard of...

Do you think any grading service would certify this as FB 1945 Mercury Dime?
If not, how much do you think it's worth say in MS65?

1945-S Jefferson nickel found in change today by
stonej
I almost spent it this morning while poking through my change
to pay for some candy and then I saw that 1945 date. Whoa hold
on there says I. First warnickel I have found in change in many
years. Hardly the find of the century but it was kind of nice.

1946-S Penny by
Ed In Colorado
I got a couple pennys in change from lunch today.
When I looked at them, they were both wheat pennys in average
circulated condition.
Back at work, I looked at them with my loupe and discovered that the
'46' was very lightly struck. A search on eBay revealed a coin that
claim that filled dies...

1947 Canadian cent by
Doggo
What is the difference between the 1947 and the 1947 Maple Leaf? I looked
at an auction for the 1947 "no maple leaf" type small cent, and it had the
two leaves on the reverse.

1947 Washingtons by
Doggo
Is there some reason why these *seem* to be harder to come by than other
close dated years? When I say harder, I mean the selection on eBay,and
dealers sites is less than other forties quarters. Looking at the mintages
they look to be on par with the rest of the forties. The "S" is low,but...

1948 Roosevelt Dime Found yesterday!!! Yeaaa! by
Yo Momma's Boyfriend
Found a 1948 Roosevelt dime in my pocket yesterday. I got all excited.
I know that it is not worth much, even with the price of silver. I just
have not found a silver coin in circulation in years. Just seeing one
makes me smile.
Today, I rolled and turned in coins that had been accumulating...
