"Snoeshoe" Thompson article? by
Joshua McGee[_4_]
My mother, on vacation (holiday), called me today from the grave of
"Snowshoe" Thompson, a famous character in U.S. postal history. I was
trying to recall for her a recent(ish) article in a philatelic
publication -- maybe on the 150th anniversary of his beginning the mail
route, which would...

perforations are a security feature. by
rodney
Imperforate stamps manually cut from any carrier,
(minisheet etc) can now be considered officially "mutilated"
in Australia, and is no longer valid for postage.
If you see (as one often does) a singleton from this sheet
keep it as a curiosity piece.

Tabs-Label-Selvedge headache by
Ralphael1
As Rodney mentioned Tabs can be a headache.
As far as I know T-L-S are not always listed in Scott catalog; too
many variations.
Canada and USA issued identical SSs on May 28, 2006. Canada has a
barcode in the selvege, USA does not.
Australia has some stamps with T-L-S that could be personalized....

United States Stamp similar to #2 question by
jake[_2_]
I have acquired a US stamp that looks (to me) identical to US Stamp
#2, however it is a red-orange in color. The color is very similar to
the 1851 3c Ben Franklin issue, but slightly more orange.
It is imperforate. What do I have?

Travancore~one for Tony Mac. by

G'day Tony,
any comments on this one ?
6th August 1902
India 8 Anna cancelled Kollam Travancore.
On the back of the palate one can just detect the lingering
taste of Prince Henry the Navigator, as the hammer reveals the
Portuguese reference to Kollam as "Quilon"

What would be the best source for variations in South Australia
officials overprints, both "O.S." and departmental?
Bonus points for something under $300. ;^)
