[Q] Storage by
mdc45124
Hello, I have some classic stamps, which I'd like to store as safely as
possible.
For the moment, I have them in a Lighthouse stockbook. I suppose the best
would be a mount on each stamp. Any recommended brand or material?
Also, I'd like to store information about each stamp, such as...

Hello Friends,
Being at the origin of the publicity made here on this excellent site

which permits to freely host images, I am pleased to announce that the
limit of 500 Ko per image is now of 1024 Ko per image.
(The image is still kept for a maximum of 21 days)

[rcsd] sales posts by
Tony Vella
All these sales posts - not only on this group - are starting to annoy. I
didn't mind the occasional one or two but now it's getting out of hand.
There are too many of them from too many different addresses to simply
filter out. Any ideas? Anyone to complain to? TIA.

[South] Viet Nam overprint by
Bobstamp
Can someone please illuminate the reason for the single-line overprint
on Scott Viet Nam #54? The overprint obliterates the
inscription at the bottom of Scott #34, which commemorates the first
anniversary of the flight of North Vietnamese refugees. The inscription
on #34 reads "Operation...

[US] Hidden Images update by
Grandpa
For those who have the list I complied and offered free, add another to
the list, Football Heroes, Scott 3808-11. Hidden image of a football
player in a corner of the stamp. You'll need the special viewer
available from the USPS to see them. If I've counted correctly, that
makes 312 stamps so...

[US] Precancels by
Grandpa
I'm considering starting another group of stamps to collect major
sigh!, that being US Precancels. It appears from the PSS website
http://www.precancels.org info that there has been a VERY vast array
of different ones created thus selecting a specialized grouping would
probably be a better...

[US] Stamp Dies/Plates by
Grandpa
What happens to the old stamp dies/plates, or whatever the proper term
is, once the run is completed, be they engraved or computer generated or
however they are done on recent stamps? What about the old stamps,
early US? Are/were they kept for archival purposes or routinely
destroyed? Just...

[US] Stamp Images by
Grandpa
Short of buying an expensive application with the image database
included, is there someplace on the net where I might locate the actual
sized images of the newer US stamps? I've located a bunch of them but
most are either at wierd angles (USPS site) or very oversized (yes, I
can save and resize...

[US] Stamp related book - good read by
Grandpa
I just finished a book I got from the library on US Stamps "Stamping our
History" - the story of the United States portrayed on its postage
stamps. With the history and the extreme close-up shots of many of the
older stamps, I've gained a new found appreciation for them and their
beauty. For one...

Looking for help in reading a cancellation on a French Colonies

other Cochin, not the one in India.) The town name seems to be nine
characters and end in DAMNOT. My best guess is IDUDAMNOT, but
Internet and atlas searches don’t...
