Netherlands Indies~any hints on cleaning? by
Rodney
I have a couple of pages of issues I'd like to mount,
and they all have sundry foreign matter hanging on their backs
like "Ratchet and Clank"
Is a "sweat box" the only solution?
or do I clean the best I can in dry condition, and leave well enough alone?
Thanks

ripped out of old albums. I don't know who made the albums, but one
in particular has popped up that interests me. These pages are printed
on very thin paper. the country names and descriptions are printed in
German,...

Dakota
Last night I was cruising around eBay looking for some interesting
things - and thought I found one. It was from a dealer in Canada (had
several items actually). I checked his terms before bidding - didn't
want a surprise about shipping costs.
There as an added feature was somethign I'd never...

Along the lines of the recent quarry stamps post,
I am seeking a good scanned image of the Danish Emergency label
printed in 1963 and released in the 90's.
Thanks.

Right of ownership??????? HELP! by
Dakota
Hey gang:
Haven't posted here in a while - but I do read it every day.
Here is a poseur that I can't answer - and some of it has been
deliberately 'shaken, not stirred' to protect the innocent/guilty or
mere bystander.
Let's say that the following is true:

A smoky question! by
Toke Nørby
Dear Friends,
A friend of mine have asked me which European monarch at one time held
the world record for smoking 240 cigarettes in a single day - and had
a special stamp issued in commemoration of this "feat"?
I think it's a joke of some kind and neither the Danish king Frederik
IX (he was a...

What and How Much Is a Dollar by
Victor Manta
The Article I, Section 9, Clause 1 of the US Constitution says that it is a
coin containing 371.25 grains of fine silver.
Because the Constitutution never has been amended on this since 1788, this
meaning is apparently legally valid.
By using this definition you can compute how many grains of...

Soaking Stamps - WhooHoo! by
Grandpa
At last I am done. In September I attended my first bourse (being a
newbie) and purchased a shoebox of on paper stamps. Since then I've
been diligently working at soaking them all off the paper and cardboard.
Tonight I finished and have an empty box! Now I can carry on with the
'other' fun task...

Before you return the catalogue... by
Bob Ingraham
Before you return that catalogue to the library, it might be a good idea to
make sure you haven't left any stamps in it! This morning I was cataloguing
some Irish stamps, using a 2003 Scott catalogue from the local library, and
found a number of used German stamps tucked in it valued at almost US...

color stamp album ? by
Alouette
Hello,
I'm making my own stamp album using AlbumGen for my 1933-1945 Germany
collection. I'll print on blank Lighthouse pages and use a Deutsches Reich
Lighthouse binder.
I'm pondering on whether use color or black and white images for this album.
Color images sure look nice but then you can't...
