'Mail Art' exhibit idea for Washington 2006 by Don
Yesterday, the International Herald-Tribune had a interesting story about 'mail art' and the French postal system. I had never heard of such a thing, but apparently it started when Cleopatra had herself wrapped up in a blanket and delivered to Caesar. Today it's worldwide and involves stamps,...

'Philatelic' Town Name Contest by Don
I just put a post on my blog, http://www.stampcollectingroundup.blogspot.com about Stamps, Arkansas. Can anyone think of any other 'philatelic' towns - real or imagined? Perhaps a Album, Alabama, a Tongs, Tennessee or how about Hinges, Hawaii? Best name gets a one-year subscription to Scott's...

The online edition of the Boothbay Harbor Register (Maine) reports that the 1998 Breast Cancer Research semi-postal was the 'Postal Product of the Month' for May and June at their local post office. Postal employees actively promoted the stamp and encouraged customers to sign pink "discs" with...

(maybe OT) Ethical issue by Edwin
Hi all, When I buy or exchange from or with others, the postage stamps were not cancelled in some cases. This means that I may send to foreign collectors for "re-using" it so as to reduce his/her postage cost. Do you think it is not ethical?

(RCSD) A Reminder for all Members Posting Messages by Blair (TC)
This is a quick reminder to all posters that putting (RCSD) at the beginning of your subject line will increase the chances of people reading your message. This was suggested because of the spam, off-topic, ads, cross-posts and non-philatelic messages that were coming into RCSD.

(RCSD) Another film about the post by Blair (TC)
The Rocket Post (2004) (UK) (Based On True Story) This film is about a German rocket scientist going to a remote Scottish island to help develop a rocket for improving the postal service. The scenery is breathtaking. Blue skies, white sand, green pastures and authentic cottages are just a few
