What world-wide postal system employs owls.
Varying sizes from Great Greys down to
tiny little Scops owls, ("local deliveries only")
........and in that system, what is a "Howler"

Danish Viking Prestige Booklet by
Dave Kent
Here in the States collectors have been upset because the Lewis & Clark
prestige booklet was priced at $1.55 more than the face value of the stamps in
it. I see that the new Viking Museum prestige booklet from Denmark will sell
for more than $5.00 over face (DKK 99.00 for stamps with a face value...

Camp & Levis RPO by
Rodney
Just curious,
I know it's a Canadian Railway Post Office,
but Is it a place, an area, a travelling PO? and where?
The author of the photo postcard "have still 500 miles to go"
after leaving his sweetheart, I presume he was returning to the US.
Thanks

Ship Mail Room by
Rodney
G'day Malcolm,
here is one example I have of the canceller.
http://groups.msn.com/Stamps/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=471
The cover has gone through the automatic "sea mail" canceller upside down,
it has been noticed, and 15 minutes later has been hand struck
with the "Ship Mail Room" ...

Something to do on a rainy day. by

Do you have some rarity hiding in your collection?
Time to check out your Australians.
Pick out your 1966 $1 Navigators.
The 1966 is perf 14.3
In 1973 the PO decided to alter the perf guage to 14.7
This fact was not announced publicly, and was only noticed some
12 months after issue, hence no...

New Zealand Health Stamps 1929 by
amesh \(Mette\)
A friend of mine has sent me a photocopy of an article about Mette Kirstine
Nielsen, a Danish woman who settled in New Zealand in 1908. She appears to
have left her footprints also in NZ-philately, since she was the one who
promoted the birth of the New Zealand Health Stamps in 1929. I only have...

Hi,
I have a Penny Black tied to a portion of a piece with a postmark of T.P.
Cornhill (orange). Of course the Penny Black was cancelled with an Orange
Maltese Cross.
I just want to know more about the post mark T.P. Cornhill like where it is
and if there is anything significant about that. I got...

Although I found this very interesting and informative it does not

Maybe OT - Question about Titian by
amesh \(Mette\)
When working on an update of my Titian-page I realized that
there seems to be some disagreement about his birthyear. This
is reflected on three stamps issued by Bulgaria, Italy and Hungary,
all showing the portrait "Flora".
The Bulgarian stamp (Scott # 3216 - Michel 3531) states 1487,
the Italian...
