Painful penmanship by JimL
rant mode on Is penmanship even taught in elementary schools these days? I'm not even talking about artful appearance of the words on the page, but just the basics of how to hold a freakin'd pen in one's hand! Perhaps it's the generation raised using keyboards for most everything. .. This...

Paper ordering by Dave
Hi all Sorry that this is not exactly precisely on topic, but there are a lot of paper experts here. :-) I want to get my hands on a package of nice inkjet paper in A4 (European standard) size. I know inkjet paper may not be the best for fountain pens - but this is (gasp!) for actual inkjet...

Paper Recommendations by Tom Piercy
Any recommendations for paper available in UK? Pads or loose, white or shades, smooth or textured, retail or mail order? What's your favourite? And where can you get it? For use with fountain pens, of course g; I usually use italic nibs. -- Tom Piercy

Paper... by Lowell
I'm a newbie (woe be to the newbie, I know)... and I have a question. I'm sure it's one you've answered a hundred times before, but I really would like to get your opinions. I use a fountain pen (I am, quite honestly, in love with fountain pens) and am looking for some nice paper to write on. I...

Parker .7 Gel startup problem by Fargo
I've bought about two dozen Parker .7 Gel refills, and about 15 of them seem to be defective. They skip drastically, and no amount of cleaning, wiping, heating, dipping in solvent or anything else clears the initial skipping. I return them to Office Depot with no problem and obtain replacements....

Parker 100 by FEGonzales
What are the reviews on the Parker 100. I just ordered one (black-cobalt) today. It kind of has the lines of the 51 but the clip is unremarkable. What do you guys think?

Parker 100 tines by Nic
I have a PArker 100 here with tines that are slightly too far apart and the ink flow is poor. What the best way to adjust this back to normal. Nib is not damaged, only poorly adjusted. Is there a link to a cross section diagram of the Parker 100? Nic

Parker 100 vs Parker 51 & Sheaffer Snorkel by ChunLi
Hi all! I have some birthday money and I was wondering what you all suggest I should get. Either a Parker 100 or a Parker 51 and Sheaffer Snorkel? I think a fully restored Parker 51 and Sheaffer Snorkel combined will be almost the same as a Parker 100. I am very new to fountain pens. I only own...

Parker 21 hood removal by walt kuciej
Hi, I want to do a nib transplant on an NOS Parker 21, from EF to Med. This is the 21 model with the "brittle" plastic, not a Super 21. I've been successful at removing Super 21 and 51 Special hoods using hot H2O and gripping cloth. Is there a good way to do the 21, and is it worth the risk? TIA....

Parker 21, 51 cleaning? by Jack Harrell
I picked up a Parker 21 super cheap (which, I understand, is not uncommon with them) and a very nice Parker "51" for my wife. Couple of questions about these pens: 1) Do you REALLY have to use only Superchrome ink or will modern inks work? 2) How do you flush these out and clean them up for new...

Parker 21/ 51Special interchangeable parts by walt kuciej
Hi, are the Metal filling unit and pliglass sac for the plain (non-Super)21 the same as the ones for the 51 Special? I was filling a 51 Special and had some loose 21 parts around, and just happened to notice. Don't want to take apart the 51S to verify. Also, anybody know where I can get new/used...

Parker 42 1/2 For SALE by JonR529
Somewhat suprisingly, my very nice Parker 42 1/2 that closed on ebay Sunday failed rather impressively to meet my reserve of $275. Most likely explanation is the Labor Day weekend eliminated some who might have been interested. This is a relatively scarce model correct in every way. Rather than...

Parker 45 converter by John B. Egger
I'm finding that my Parker 45, equipped with a Parker converter, will not draw ink from the bottle when it's installed in the pen... but it will when I remove it from the pen and insert it directly into the bottle. This is not a pen I use very often. The problem sounds to me like an air leak at...
