New Clairefontaine Paper? by
Nancy Handy
Just got back from ten days away, dropped oldest son off at college, and
saw something unusual at a stationery store.
At a stationery/art store, they had some Clairefontaine books. One
was different than any I had ever seen before. The outside was the
same, but the inner pages had horizontal...

Ink for a Pelikan m600 by
macaddicted
Well, the m600 I bought on eBay shipped yesterday. To say I am giddy
with anticipation is to understate my feelings. But $60 for a pen with
an 18k M nib I thought it was worth the chance. Now I just hope it
works.
Which brings me to my question: I have grown to like the PR inks, but I
am not sure...

Anniversary of the first ballpoint? by
Norman Haase
This month's Discover magazine lists October 30th as the 115th anniversary
of the patenting of "a marking device with a spheroid point able to revolve
in all directions" (a.k.a. the ballpoint pen) by John J. Loud of Weymouth,
Mass.
I'd be interested to hear those more knowledgeable weigh in with...

Grad School Visits by
BSB
You asked about visiting the schools. I would apply and see if you get
in first. Both Vanderbilt and Boston College are hard to get into.
Once you get in you should visit them. For now you don't have that much
time as you need a good score on the MAT exam to get in. Hopefully,
you have signed...

Sheaffer Fineline Nibs by
kg
Was wondering if there is much of a market for Steel Fineline nibs? I ran
across a few in an auction and don't know if they are worth trying to sell
as I only need a couple for my one Fineline. I've not seen any for sale
recently on E-bay but I know that's not the only outlet in the...

Waterman Carene Roller Ball - problem, please help.. by
BlueOrbit
I purchased this Waterman Carene Roller Ball on eBay. It is in brand new
condition, except for the following two issues:
1. The golden tip on top of the barrel (part that screws in to the lower
part of the pen) is loose and wiggles from side to side.
2. The cap won't stay posted on top of the...
