Free (41c) Flag chart by
Stephen G. Esrati
I will e-mail you a proof of the chart on the undenominated 41c Flags
that I am preparing for my August newsletter, "All About PNCs," ($5 for
four issues a year).
Of course it still lacks data on the denominated version (which is
expected in the Postal Bulletin due 10 days from now).
All you...

Newsgroup observation by
Ron
Good morning all (at least for me it's morning). I would like to say
how much I enjoy reading posts to this newsgroup. Many of the posts
are beyond my line of understanding as I see individuals here that can
go rather deep on various topics. I've only posted one other time
here because up to...

Franking question by
nomilk
I have a letter written in November of 1844, posted from Washington,
D.C., with a franked signature that appears to include the last name
"Benjamin" (with first initial "R" or "P" or "J" or "S"--difficult to
tell). The author of the letter is a young woman (her signed name,
perhaps a nickname, is...

By Linda Sandler
June 8 (Bloomberg) -- Bill Gross's British stamps, which go on auction
in New York on June 11 to benefit a charity, have proven to be a better
investment than his bond fund.

Portugal and Azores Ceres question by
Tony Vella
I have accepted a small project and wondered if help from some group-members
might not make it smaller still. I have been given 4 spreadsheets (Microsoft
Excel) of the Afinsa listing of the Portugal and Azores Ceres issues. I was
also given the Afinsa catalogue itself and asked to add more...

Spot the (Cinderella) error. by
Rod
Apart from the obvious,
there are a further two errors.........
1. "Doctor Blade" malfunction in the print process.
2. A good advertisement for my mantra, "wash the gum off!"
Gum has just about ruined this label, I am not sure when I wash it
with a few grains of "Napisan" it will...

Thieves and blaggards. by
Rod
Rather can behave like the person re Edmonton stamp thefts,
(who carries on like a pork chop.)
Perhaps our Stamp community has a better solution,
print out Pink Slips with the details of the offence, and
circulate within the stamp societies.
I reckon we shall catch our person/s soon.

R..I.P. Henry Hahn by
Jay T. Carrigan
Henry Hahn, one of my oldest philatelic friends and mentors, and
the person who pushed me to become an APS philatelic judge, died
unexpectedly yesterday morning at his home in Fairfax, Virginia.
I feel very fortunate that I was able to see him just last weekend
at the NAPEX show.
Henry was a...
