leather notebook cover by
Al Sponsor
Apologize if this is slightly off topic, but ...
As journals I use standard composition books by Winnable and Blueline,
and I'm quite happy with them. I even like the look of the hard
binding. The problem is, there's no loop for a pen. What I'd really
like is a leather (or even woven nylon) cover...

viewpoint on Sailor 1911? by
Ken Freeman
I just got a Fahrney's catalog, and really dug the Sailor 1911. Anybody
want to share experiences? I might just get one.
What's a Zoom nib? Simply based on the nib chart, it gives a major line
width variation. But what's special about its construction?

Parker 51 body material by
Messer
I just bought my first Parker 51 (aerometric, black, medium nib,
"press 4 times" type), and among it's many virtues one strikes me: the
material. The pen wears some signs of use, as it was someone's daily
instrument for 10 years, but it is still shiny and smooth. The plastic
is tough and looks to...

Gentleman interested in importing Camel ink/pens - any help? by
kcat
Hello,
While showing off a little inexpensive Italian-made pen to a fellow at
an electronic parts store - I mentioned the nib was made in India and
that it was an impressive nib for the price range (well, IMO, any
price range)*
He is interested in importing Camel Ink and Pens from India but...

In praise of an eBay seller by
macaddicted
Also posted to Pentrace
--------------------------------
I know we have all come across eBay sellers that are, how shall I say,
less than honest.
I found one that went above and beyond.
The Pelikan m600 I bought from her arrived with a nib that had feed
problems. I asked if she could send me a...

Sam LAI
Hi! all
I am offering the Mottishawed Boheme 18k two tone extra-flexible stub nib

stiff nib guy and I have the nib replaced by Montblanc. I am selling the
spare one CHEAP.
The nib alone cost about $150 from a...

Newsgroup Reader Options by
David Heverly
Hello All:
I access this Newsgroup via Google. It brings up all the threads in
the Newsgroup. Is there a program or a site one can use which would
offer the ability to filter out select content and / or posters?
I'm afraid I'm not as knowledgeable about this stuff as I should be.
Thanks

Looking for Lodis by
Divrdan007
Hello all,
Looking for a Lodis writing instrument, I was umable to find any.
I have done several web-searches, (How I found this group) and it seems no

Are there any pens being marketed under the *Lodis* brand-name any more?
Any information as to why Lodis may have...

crazy people & ink (esp Pelikans) by
Jolyon Wright
I have noticed a few postings here recently about Pelikans and ink,
which prompts my question: do only crazy people use Pelikan "fount"
non-waterproof indian ink in their Pelikans?
I stumbled on this in an art book that presents Pelikans as
illustration, rather than writing, tools. This book...

crazy people & ink (what Pelikan says) by
LEFTPAWRM
CHECK PELIKAN'S WEB SITE--They clearly proclaim the bottle must be
shaken before EACH use and the pen cleaned before EACH refill.
Pelikan's web site also says the ink (PFI) is 'safe' to use in its (Pelikan's)
pens.
You summarily dismiss this 'minor' bit of information as so much dreck,...

Da Book by
Michael Oates
Hi,
As a newbie to both this group and pens I keep seeing 'Da Book' mentioned as almost a
bible on this and another groups. Can some one tell me what the real title is and the
author so I can have a look?
Thanks,
Mike

Refills by
Jeff Miars
Hello all!
First time post; be gentle.
I inherited a couple of Pentel Excalibur sets. The refills are marked
RMJ6 0.6 and RMJ8 0.8.
Any idea what replacements would fit these pens to make them functional?

VACUMATIC NIB SETTING by
jes
Repair experts out there... everytime I work on a Vac and have to
remove the nib/feed, putting it back together is a struggle. I mark
the original nib orientation relative to the section, but the things
are always super tight. After harpooning my thumb on the latest one I
thought I'd ask if there...

I have some Staples brand "inkjet paper". Is it likely to be coated with
