US Mint Proof Platinum Eagles by
JB
Are they worth collecting? Do they command the price that one pays for
them (higher/lower)?
Thanks-in-advance, JB

Currency Redesign reply letter. by
Malanutt 4 Life
Here is a reply I got from a senator who I sent the Balto bill to. I think its
just another form letter, but you be the judge.
Tom
Thank you for your follow-up letter. As before, I continue to be
interested in your opinions, and I am glad you shared your thoughts with
me.

Is buying gold speculation or a store of value? by
Marcus Valdes
I'm in the process of accumulating some gold. I've started off with
some small bullion coins while I figure all this out. My question is
basically this-- Am I speculating in gold by doing this, or am I
storing my wealth in gold? I hope this makes sense? And if this is my
sole goal, should I...

AOL phasing out of newsgroups...what's the best alternative?? by
UsterDay72
Hi Folks,
I may not see the answers to this question, but what is the best alternative
for accessing Newgroups if AOL dumps theirs? I might well change ISP's, but if
I stay on AOL (the little woman likes it!) what's the best alternative?
Thaks in advance. Pete

Howdy, friends!
I just thought of a neat idea for a contest! So as to give more folks a shot

The Silver Jar...
Don't quote anything at all and let the readers figure out what you're
referring to... ;-)

more the result of being driven home with a massive hammer.
I have for several years participated on a Railway group and on there
if you...

1940s or older. The coins says "Lucky Heart Charm Brings Good Luck" on
one side and "I BRING THEE Happiness good luck love money health" on

FS (To Right Person): Fake Chinese Silver Dollars by
RLWinnetka
A friend of mine attended a coin show in central Illinois last month and
encountered a U.S. coin dealer with a stack of old Chinese silver dollars "from
the estate of a World War II veteran." He paid $50 for 3 pieces that looked
good to him, thinking he could make a quick $200 or so profit. He...

Preparing coins for archive by
randy bois
This may seem crazy or all wrong but how can I prepare a coin so it does not
deteorate in a 2x2 over time. Unseen finger oils or any unseen electrolites
will change a coins long term grade. A coin collector friend says ivory
soap, olive oil, acetone. Mostly try to get any pvc slime removed....

tonning on silver eagle by
Rick
Hi all,
I'm new to coin collecting and decided to start with silver eagles since
they are easy to get and relatively inexpensive. I bought a couple coins
from ebay and received really nice coins. The last coin I bought was a
1989 eagle that had a very light golden tint to it. I emailed the...
