I got a dual base card from 2003 UD MVP. Now the base on the card look like it was cut down the middle with an knife but that the cut didn't go all the way through the base. IS that possible? Anyone else noticing something similiar in the base cards?

I just got my first 1953 Topps card. Its Bob Feller. Only problem is that it won't fit in the penny sleeve I have. Is that common? Was the 1953 set slightly bigger? I have other vintage cards, but non from 53', that fit in the same size sleeve no problem.
