Is Stamporama down? by
amesh \(Mette\)
Is there something wrong with Stamporama these days? I simply cannot access
the site's discussion board, no matter what I do. I reach the main page
fine, but no other pages seem available, and it is imposibble to post
anything on the discussion board.

Newbie question: "Tagged" stamp by
linxlvr
Hi all!
My name is Don Wilson and I usually collect low end coins, but I also have
started collecting stamps that interest me. The only literature on stamps
I have is a Scott Pocket Stamp Catalog.
I have a "Scott # 2226, 1986 2c Locomotive" Stamp.
I do not know what is meant by tagged,...

US FDC with "Sterling Silver" Medal by
George
A friend of mine recently came to me with a question about "Medallic
First Day Covers" put out by the "Postmaster of America." These items
were apparently produced by the Franklin Mint in the 1970's. Each FDC
has an encased "sterling silver" medal. Are the medals really sterling
silver?
A...

Common stamps, but a lovely art-deco colourful design,
makes a rather splendid looking page.

Anybody use a digital camera for copying at a library? by
[email protected]
During a recent library research visit, I used a 3.2 megapixel digital
camera for copying 8.5 by 11 inch pages (mostly text).
The page images were in good enough shape to read.
I later figured out it works out to about 170 dpi. Given the camera
distortion (lens distortion, jpeg compression...
