Reading and Collecting by
Bud Webster
I'm looking for any and all information on the bibliophile's magazine,
Reading and Collecting: A Monthly Review of Rare and Decent Books,
edited by famed bookman Ben Abrams between 1936 and 1938. I'm
especially looking for contents listings for the December 1937 issue,
as well as those right...

Q: Deities and Demigods by
ps
Hey folks! I have a several questions regarding the Dungeons & Dragons
handbook called Deities and Demigods by James Ward with Robert Kuntz, first
published in 1980.
The first and second editions contained material from H. P. Lovecraft and
Michael Moorcock that encountered copyright disputes. This...

Damage from protective library jackets? by
Denton Taylor
Greetings all:
I know we're supposed to protect dust wrappers with protective covers,
which I do religiously. But has anyone come across a book being
damaged by one?
I have a photo book, 'Social Graces', Larry Fink, Powerhouse, 2001.
The inside front and rear pastedowns are sort of...

Billy Bob
Ever been reading a book, turn two pages instead of one page, and have the
text read right along with the previous sentence, and be quite funny?

Book Repair by
Evelyn C. Leeper
I have an old book which would not be particularly valuable even in good
condition (maybe $50), but my copy has the back cover completely
detached and the front cover partially detached. I want to repair it,
but not in any way that would further decrease its value (assuming
that's possible!).
How...

Semi Off Topic: Article about a fake book signing by Anton Chekov by
Douglas Wood
If you enjoy literary pranks, check out this web page about a group that
recently set up a book signing for Anton Chekov in a major chain

mmmm... crisp! by
[email protected]
The word "crisp" is my most hated bibliographic descriptive term. It is
right up there with "nice". The bookseller may as well say "L@@K!"
How did such a useless, UNdescriptive term become common parlance for
people describing books!
So I looked at the IOBA site. "FINE (F): Approaches the above,...

Pyramid Books Code Reference by
Some Guy
I'm loooking for information on the ID codes used by Pyramid Books in
the mid 1960's. The paperbacks generally had two book identity codes,
one in the upper left corner and another on the spine, the former being
imbedded in the latter. Thus, the front cover might say "T-1974" for
the book "True...
