"silver" coloured 2009 UK 1p coin by [email protected]
Hello. While sorting through a huge pile of change that I have accumulated over the last couple of years, I came across a silver coloured 2009 1p coin.. It isn't just an especially new and shiny one. It really is a markedly different colour than the rest. looking closely, I can see at least one...

Mint sets to albums by [email protected]
I have mint and proof sets (mixed) from 1970 to the present. I am thinking of breaking them down and putting them in albums so that I can enjoy them more. Is this going to reduce the value significantly when and if I want to sell them several years down the road?

Should I sell my coins now or wait? by P.Nichols
I realize many people consider coins a bad investment, and that many of you here are into the hobby of coin collecting more than the business of it. I was told 2 years ago, "Don't invest in coins, they are not a good investment". But I read some books and did some research and decided that it made...

What is your opinion on coin / medallic / token covers? by Toke Nørby
I'm writing on a small article about coin covers and would like to know why these covers are made and to whom they are sold. Are there any of you stamp or coin collectors who collect such covers? or is there a special group of collectors who buy them? Thanks in advance for your feedback /...

To those who have ruined red.collecting.coins by Steve Spradlin
What is the obsession with Frank Provasek, who goes under FRANKCOINS on ebay? With some of the outrageous scams on eBay, a couple of fellows seem to target a man with an honest record and who contributes useful information to the group, operated a brick and mortar coin shop for years, and IMO has...

APMEX margins vs spot by ps56k
I've bought from Apmex - and recently noticed their prices don't really follow spot... I should put together a graph comparing the silver/gold spot vs APMEX prices for American Eagles.. The actual price doesn't wander too much, as the supply & demand econs kinda make it that way... 1 - when spot...

Selling Silver Eagles by capri
I recently took 24 slabbed NGCS MS70 1986-2010 coins with me to the Jacksonville Greater Coin Show. I was planning on selling them or trading them for some nice Morgan CC coins. Anyway, what I found out was rather disconcerting. Not one of the dealers I talked to was willing to pay anymore than...
