Advice on Selling Coins? by
Brian Hartman
Hi, Everyone.
A family member has entrusted me to sell her coins, so I'm doing a
little research. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about selling
them? My first impulse would be Ebay, but I'm a little hesitant, as I
have a feeling some of the coins are very valuable and I'm a little
leery of...

I think I need to rethink..... by
LRC-Tom
....my eBay selling strategy, that is. I've been doing this since 1998,
and my most often-used technique has been to open the bidding at 99
cents and let it go from there. True auctions. Customers liked them,
and they were a lot of fun for me, as a seller, to watch. By and
large, the auctions...

My Wife Doesn't Underestand Me by
Bruce Remick
My wife just doesn't understand me and my hobby.......... She told me I should
find a good barber, so I went out and bought a really nice 1915 quarter.........
When I broke the news that I had just spent $5,000 on a plain 1922 Lincoln, she
asked me where in the world I was planning to park...

Holing coins by
Reid Goldsborough
Why would someone hole a relatively current coin? I just saw in my
local coin shop a group of recent coins -- Lincoln cents, Jefferson
nickels, Roosevelt dimes, and Washington quarters -- with holes in
them.
I know that older, larger, and more visually striking coins -- Seated
Liberty coinage,...

A contest that *you* can win... by
Amistad \(formerly known as Señor Amistad\)
Howdy friends!
Those of us who have been hanging out here in RCC for a while are aware of
the fun we have with the various contests that different readers conduct
from time to time. I've not done one for a while, so thought I would do so
this morning.
My wife and I went to the bank yesterday to...

Mylar, storage and questions by
[email protected]
Back in high school I collected a few coins and am interested in
getting back into the hobby. I have a few questions, that I hope you
can help me out with. I've researched this a little, but a trip to my
local coin shop has left me confused.
1) I have a coin folder/binder that has plastic sheets...

Non-U.S. Coins... Is there anyone in this group who collects them??? by
RsH
Is there anyone who collects coins from Latin America, Africa, Asia,
Europe and Canada in this group, or is it exclusively collectors of
U.S. coins? From the various postings, it seems to me that it is 99%
U.S. coin collection that is being discussed, with the U.S. grading
services, etc. and eBay...

Graded/Certified coins. Paying for the name of the grader? by
Capri
I'm rather new to this coin collection world and find it quite
fascinating. I buy most of my coins online as I live in a small town
and there are no dealers nearby. Most of the coins I do buy are graded
of certified. Manytimes it seems that the same coin sells for a lot
more depending on who is...
