DemonBean
I reccently acquired a lot of 50 (one for each state) mechanical
pencils in a vintage pen briefcase and one of them may have been a
personal signature pencil of the person who put the collection
togwther.
It reads GLEN ROBLEY Pencil Collector Lyons, Nebraska
It also has a red CONOCO logo on...

Parker Gel Ink Skipping by
Dave
I really enjoy the Parker Gel Ink pen refills. However, I've tried
3-4 of them, and each one of them only lasts for a few weeks before it
runs out of ink, and I am not doing a lot of writing. Anyone else
having this problem?
Thanks.

Aurora Ipsilon refills by
Wendell
(If this isn't the appropriate forum, my apologies.)
I have an Aurora Ipsilon fountain pen I use for daily writing; I
picked it up from Levenger, who also supplied an $8 set of 12 refill
cartridges alleged to fit this pen. They don't; they leak into the
barrel. The Aurora refills themselves sell...

Converters on rollerballs? by
Mark Atwood
This is a stupid question, but I can't seem to find an answer
online. I supposed I could go to UW bookstore and buy one and try it,
but...
Do higher quality rollerball pens take converters and regular FP ink?

New Rotring Core seems to skip by
R. Paul Martin
So I got my Rotring Core on Saturday. It's an interesting pen, but I
wonder if I have what our late colleague Frank Dubiel called a "skip
on downstroke" problem?
If I just try to start writing no ink gets on the paper. I have to
press down on the nib once, often twice. When I see a dot of...

Press releases have gone out to the news and print media, posters have been

comparing inks by
JP
All the inky talk motivated me to create my own technical ink test.
Using dip nibs I wrote with some of the inks I have accumulated.
Paper used was Ampad Gold Fibre, lined letter size.
I was curious which one would be best to use for addressing an envelope.
1st sample was my most used blacks...

New Waterman Hemisphere by
the dude
I just purchased a new Waterman Hemispere fountain pen and the cut in
the nib is off center, i.e. it does not go through the center of the
tip of the nib. This is my first fountain pen so I'm not sure if this
is anything to fret about. Should I send the pen back? Any advice
would be greatly...

Parker 51 Repairs and Service? by
cortjestir
Hello:
Just purchased a Parker 51 Vacumatic that is in need of some repair.
It fills OK from what I can tell. It writes very well. But if capped
for more than say, 30 minutes, it doesn't start. Barrel needs some
light work as well and it could use a polish, probably a new sac as well.
Can anyone...

New York pen shops by
Portvrij
I am planning to visit New York in some months. What pen shop should I
visit? I am not a collector, but I'm interested in fountain pens which are
not easily to be obtained in Europe. And do you know a good address for
vintage pens?
Thanks very much!
