Writing with caps on or off? by
JChapman
Just curious... a lot of fountain pens, when capped during use, are way
longer than most clickable pens. Does this present a problem for
anyone? In short, do you write with the cap on the back of your pen or
with the cap on the desk?
Thanks for your input!

Ink pooling on Pelikan nib - normal? by
Bruce Ammerman
I have a question about my newly acquired, used Pelikan 400 (older style,
not two-toned) medium oblique nib. Usually when I uncap it to write with I
find a little "pool" of ink on the top of the nib, midway between the tip
and the hole. Is this normal? I'm using Pelikan 4001 ink (blue) too. ...

blue or black ink? by

Fountain pen with jeans and a T-shirt? by
JChapman
I'm a complicated person with a peculiar dichotomy of tastes. I have a
technical position which affords me the ability to wear T-shirts and
jeans everyday to work. The problem is, I'd like to carry a fountain
pen with me (no shirt pockets) and would like to get some feedback and

I've had it with flashy colored pens!! Grrr!! by
Don
I've tried a number of pens such as the Levenger/Sheaffer Seas pens, Conklin
(moderns) Visconti Kaleido, etc. and they all have one thing in common. The
sections stain and usually ink works itself between the blind cap and the
cap and stains the material in that area too.
I don't have a blind cap...

Fountain pens often skip until their nibs are reground by
charlotte.cremer
Cigarettes carry warnings such as "Cigarettes damage your health".
The warnings are written on the outside of the packaging.
Perhaps there should also be compulsory warnings on the outside of the
packaging
of new fountain pens.
The warnings might say "Fountain pens often skip until their nibs...

Crayons Crayons - I adore crayons by
[email protected]
Bought a pack of wax crayons, ala crayola, but an own brand one. A
cheapo, 24 or 32, I think, chunky crayons for less than a =A31. Now I
use them to highlight stuff I wrote.
I noticed that one of my cheapo fountain pens stopped writing well just
after I rewrote something I had already highlighted...

Illinoi pen dealer? by

A few years ago there was a man in Illinois, either Rockford or
Freeport address (?), who was a retired retailer but kept a supply of
main brand pens at home and sold them from his website. I bought a
couple from him, including my intrroduction to the Namiki VP. Seems
that he summered up north in...

Pilot's Dr. Grip Center of Gravity by
JChapman
Has anyone had an opportunity to try one of these pens? I'm wondering
what's so special about the ink. I hear it's a sort of gel which
supposedly out-lasts ballpoint pen (refills).
Thanks,
JC, who's not afraid to try something new as long as someone else tests
the waters first.

Ink to be sold by
J. L. Jones
I have way too much ink. I'd like to sell the following,
which will reduce my inventory to a sensible level.
I'd like to deliver this to someone in the Portland, OR area
or perhaps at the Portland Pen show. Then I don't have to
ship it and worry about it breaking, although I'll pack it
as if it's...

Ink, Mightier Than You Think! by

Just when I think life in Evansville, Indiana stinks because of the
lack of ink, I read this in today's local news:

Granted, it isn't fountain pen ink, but exciting just the same!

Inks for Dip Pens? by

Having gotten some nice art deco ink wells and some bizarre-looking

Finally got around to washing out a (pretty wet) Pelikan and

insipid light blue black. Is it possible I have a couple of
bottles from an early defective production...
