Annual UnCirc Sets and Coin TV by Don
I was channel hoping the other night and stopped to watch one of the coin shows. What I saw about floored me. They were selling 2006 Uncirculated Sets from the Mint in unopened boxes for $38 and spouting off about how great a deal it was. The sets can be had for under $17 plus shipping from the...

Stack's auction by ignatious
I just perused the offerings at Stack's coin auction site and was somewhat surprised at the number of items for which there is no picture. Are these items bought primarily for resale or do buyers rely on descriptions only for the quality of the item.? Some of the items, particularly lots, would...

Yet another round of frustration... by Amistad
....out there at the workplace. Some of you will remember me mentioning a coworker whom I got interested in collecting coins. A few weeks ago, he said he had gotten several rolls of quarters from the bank and that one entire roll was all Standing Liberty. I then asked him to bring them for me...

Has anyone done business with Steven Orros? by WheatPenny
Recently I made an order for close to 100 coins from him, for about $650. Well 3 days ago, I recieved one of the coins, and a refund check for one of the others which was out of stock but no explanation for where the others are. The check has cleared the bank. I'm just wondering if anyone has any...

Elderly man inspired by State Quarter by Amistad
I put a dollar bill in a change machine at work today. Out popped four quarters, as expected, and I examined them. After seeing that two of the four were the same, an idea occurred to me. When I got home, I had my wife to grab a photo of me. What State Quarter would you guess that I got two...

$799.95? by [email protected]
That's the Coin Vault's "sale" price for a complete run of "First Strike" Silver Eagles from 1986 to 2006 in MS69. As many of you know, they charge $1199.95 for the set. It just shows you how over-priced they are in the first place, and how naive it is buying these things as an investment ... like...
