Pullman pen by
Roger Light
Hi there,
My dad has a Pullman ink pen. He knows nothing about it and would be
interested if anybody could tell us anything at all about it.
It's not in particularly good shape, but he tells me that a work
colleague has offered him £100 (approx. US$170) for it, which intrigued him.
I've put a...

Parker Quink Versus Pelikan Ink by
jono
I was advised to be carefull using my favourite Parker ink in Pelikan pens
as Paker ink is said to gum ink ways.
Any reccomendation for an ink that has the flow and glow of Parker blue.
I find Pelikan blue too watery.

rOtring Renaissance???? by
David Heverly
Given my continuing interest in rOtring pens, I recently acquired a
rOtring fountain pen called a Renaissance. It's not like the other
rOtrings I have. First of all, it's light. Second, it's piston
filler. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this model.
From what I gather, it's a...

Ronald Reagan's pens by
Ron Wilbanks
During an interview last night with a former White House staff member
during the Reagan Administration, he mentioned that Ronald always had a
lot of pens on hand that he was fond of. Some of them were gifts from
foreign dignitaries and friends from all over the world.
I am curious, what kinds of...

Fountain Pen Ink Sampler Book Final Edition by
Greg Clark
Hi All!
Well - the "Final Edition" of the Fountain Pen Ink Sampler is finally off
the ground. I received the shipments from both Noodlers and Colfer's
Imperial 2 days ago. Colfer's is a brand new USA based ink maker! So I am
actually inking pages right now (on page 3 of 36 right now!)

How Things Have Changed by
Juan
2 or 3 years ago I used to check this group everytime I was online.
Now, a weekly check is enough to notice that there's just a few new
threads (if any).
To make things worse, most of the posts are about fountain pens I don't
like at all (and according to the posts, I'm not alone here),...

WARNING: Noodler's Inks by
~shit-magnet~
These inks may not be the best for medium and/or fine nibbed pens. I
have experienced drying and clogging of both a Waterman and Romet
medium, both newer pens. Because the higher concentration of pigment
in Noodlers, the stroke-line looks better when used with fine and
medium nibs but be prepared...

Omas 557-S by
Jack Harrell
Hmmm, this pen collecting stuff is WAY too addictive...and confusing for
newbies.
Just purchased on E-Bay what was supposed to be an Omas 360 pen. It is not.
The side of it says Omas 557-S and, quite frankly, it looks much chaper than
I expected considering how highly everyone here spoke of Omas....

Sheaffer Imperial vs Triumph Imperial---how to tell the difference? by
Lot-o-fun
I just bought a pen on eBay that was listed as a Sheaffer Imperial. On
receiving the pen and looking closer, I think it's a Triumph Imperial
(late 90s, as opposed to the earlier 60s-70s Imperial). How can I tell
the difference for sure? The pen has a black barrel, brushed stainless
steel top,...

Venting by
macaddicted
I suppose I just need to get this out. I just received what I consider
to be a very distressing notice from a pen site (usually goes by a three
letter acronym). There is currently a discussion regarding the nature of
their board, and one of my posts was redacted for what I consider to...

crazy people & ink (esp Pelikans) by
Jolyon Wright
I have noticed a few postings here recently about Pelikans and ink,
which prompts my question: do only crazy people use Pelikan "fount"
non-waterproof indian ink in their Pelikans?
I stumbled on this in an art book that presents Pelikans as
illustration, rather than writing, tools. This book...

REQ: Post your favorite pen! by
Aaron W. Hsu[_3_]
Hey Everyone,
So, it's been quiet here, but I was just thinking that it would be really
cool if everyone could post up pictures of their favorite pens, either
their favorite no-use pen or their favorite pen that they use to write
with, maybe both? It would be interesting to see what everyone...

on handwriting by
Juan
Hi, I recently have received some "complaints" from some friends and
coworkers about my handwriting. It is cursive, and I use F/M nibs (of
course fps). What's going on? My handwriting is not bad; it is not
like that rounded and separated letters some (most) people use though.
A coworker even...

Fountain Pens. What's the attraction? by
The Visitor[_2_]
Okay guys, I'm curious if anybody will share their reason for liking
fountain pens.
I like them because they take me back to what I feel were better times.
It's real writing. Seems more cultured perhaps.
I got wondering about this because I read this newspaper article about
people still...

Anyone remember PiP SQUIRT pens from the 80's? Trying to find some info. by
427Cobra
Hi all,
I couldn't believe there is no info on this "toy" pen anywhere on the
net. I was cleaning out the ol' basement and found mine from ages
ago. It's missing the cap and will need a refill, but it still
squirts like it did when I was soaking my little sister and brother
with it! :) It's not...

Erasers for Scripto Classics & K750-K780 by
Halfhyde
Does anyone know of any currently available, new erasers, that will fit these Scripto pencils? I am told that the Scripto J150 was the original, but any of those that may be found on ebaY, etc. would most likely be hard and discolored.
I am looking for anything that might fit that is currently...

The world's smoothest ballpoint. by
Giovanni Abrate
I just found a new ballpoint that is, without any doubt, the smoothest I
have ever tried. It is actually smoother than any Gel pen I have tried. It
sports a very wide point (which explains the smoothness) od 1.6mm diameter.
It is made by Staedler and is called the 1.6 MAXUM.
Superb!
Giovanni
PS: I...

$10 vs $150 Pelikan: You Get What You Don't Pay For by
David Meale
I know I'm not breaking new ground here, but I have to add more fuel
to the fire about cheap pens being made to write well and more
expensive pens made to look pretty...
I just received a Pelikan 75 (Pelikan GO!) pen today. Cost me $10.
Writes beautifully.
By contrast, my Pelikan 600, which cost...
