Montblanc Nib Sizes by Cliff Reynolds
I just bought a Montblanc Meisterstuck LeGrand from "a guy, who knows a guy". Please spare me the "I told you so's". I saved a good bit of monay. And I did get a brand new Meisterstuck LeGrand out of the deal. However, I requested a "fine" nib. The one that I got was (what I believe to be)...

Moleskines - Maybe A Little OT by Argent
I've introduced my daughters to fountain pens and was thinking of giving them Moleskines notebooks in their Christmas stockings. However, one of them won't willingly touch anything made of leather. Anybody know what the material is that Moleskines have on the covers? Thanks!

Sailor Pens by Shawn Wallis
I bought a Sailor pen, the medium 1911 one with a music nib for around $100. The actual pen is plastic, I am guessing the pen part was like a couple dollars and the actual nib was $100. If so in order to get another type of nib, would I just buy a whole new pen?

Luoshi 139 by John B. Egger
A friend, who travels often to China, just gave me one of these pens. It has a brushed aluminum/silver all-metal body with gold (colored) clip, trim, and nib. It uses an aerometric style filler and the cap snaps firmly onto the top of the barrel when posted. It may be a little heavy for some...

Waterman Carene leaks around nib by Halsted Mencotti Bernard
Howdy, folks. I tried to post this to an earlier thread mentioning a leaky Carene nib, but the thread had no "reply" function. It must have been too old. So here goes ... I have a Waterman Carene that leaks ink around the base of the nib, so much so that I cannot write with it without getting...

First-time fountain pen? by Iain Dalton
I'm a high-school student, with a $75/wk. salary, so I'm not looking to get an expensive pen, but I'm getting or getting myself a journal this Christmas holiday, something I've procrastinated a long time, and I want it to look worthy of showing to my posterity, so I've decided to get a fountain...

New Here by Vickie Durham
Well, I admit to being a pen newbie. I have always loved to write with a fountain pen, even those school pens we used to use many years ago. Then I got sidetracked with the ease of ball points. But nothing will ever compare to the fine nib of a fountain pen. I hope to learn a lot from all of...

new to FP and can't fill by James Lyles
I was given an older Mont Blanc Meisterstuck No. 140 and am trying to begin using it. I have been unable to fill it satisfactorily. I spent some time "filling" with water to clean the pen seems clean. The procedure I am using is from the instructions that came with the Mont Blanc ink. 1-I turn the...

The Parker Reflex, a loathesome pen by virgiliopoeta
I bought one of these from Quill out of curiosity a year or so ago, because it was only $6.50. This is the worst fountain pen I have ever encountered, and I have tried several hundred. The pen barely writes; in fact most ballpoints give a better line. It is almost as if the pen had been designed to...

How to separate Scripto Ink Reserve pen section from barrel? by virgiliopoeta
I recently got one of these on ebay, and although rather scratchy is certainly very pretty and well-balanced. According to the seller it had been found in a warehouse where it had lain unmolested since the 50's. The bag is still ok, but I'd like to peek inside at it anyway, just out of...
