[Q] Stamp storage & albums by
Grandpa
I went to the Stamp Store in our main PO yesterday and bought a few
stamps. The lady there said I should store them in "acid free" sheet
protectors, if I was going to use protectors at all. I told her I was
going to make my own albums. Ok, so does that apply to the paper as
well? I'm going to...

[Q] Choicest stamps of a set by
Grandpa
For my next question (hope I'm not annoying anyone) I'll use the
Reptiles and Amphibians set as an example. Its in a 4x4 grid, total of
20 stamps on the sheet with 5 stamps repeating 4 times. I'd prefer to
break the set and keep just one of 5. I read in one of the books where
it spoke to...

[OT] Strange by
amesh \(Mette\)
When I checked the newsgroups I normally attend, including RCSD, this
morning (Sunday 8th August), I realised that *all* posts from week 32
(beginning Monday 2nd August) had disappeared from my computer overnight. I
have found everything on Google, so there is no real problem, but I wonder
whether...

[OT] Money Galore by

For years now most of us have been overwhelmed with "business offers"
allegedly ending up with lucrative payments in return for a "small service".
Also all kinds of "Winning Notifications" in doubtful lotteries have landed
in our inboxes.
The latest of the kind landed this morning in my mailbox by...

[OT] Is spring about here (US)? by
Grandpa
It was so warm I was outside in a 'T' shirt all afternoon. Thatched and
mowed the front & back yards, drug out the hoses and watered them and
garden area. I swear it was 60ºf or more today - just beautiful! Even
the birds were happy and noisly asked me to fill their feeder. They
were so happy...

[ot] free usenet provider? by
Dave
Sorry for the off-topic post, but since my usenet usage is pretty limited,
this is sort of my "home" group. Seems Comcast is going to drop its usenet
access... great. I'm looking for recommendations of other (free would be
nice) usenet providers. I've always had newsgroups direct from my ISP, so...

[OT] Faroe Islands by

When reading another newsgroup I came across this link that may be of
interest to collectors of the Faroe Islands.

with fair descriptions of location, postal code, and a lot of other...

So I'm heading to our downtown library and what should I behold on the

435hp version or not but boy did she purr. Damn that brought back some

Somebody found this object :

Diameter 17 to 20 mm
Thickness .8 to 1 mm
The weight leads to think it is metallic (brass or bronze due to the

[Kinda long] How to identify a stamp for a newbie by

Ok, I have 2 questions that are annoying me so I'm turning to the

the occasion arise. Even though he'll be doing new US stuff initially,
I'd like to give him a few old ones as a means of 'hooking' himG. I'd

Zip4 is dead by

I had reason to visit the official USPS web site and in the box
requesting my zip code only five numbers were accepted.
I guess this means Zip4 is officially dead as far as USPS is concerned.

Zip Lock bags for storage by
Steve
I've received stamps in Kitchen "Zip-Loc" bags and store some
common used stamps in them.
How safe or how bad are Zip Loc bags for stamp storage of extras?
Thank you,
