Recommended mechanical pencil by
Covad
Please provide your recommendations of the best mechanical pencils in the
$10 - $50 price range. I'm tired of pencils breaking down.
Thanks!

Calligraphy Pens by
Sonny
I am looking to purchase a good quality calligraphy pen set for my wife.
It's hard to tell which are decent quality. Does anyone have any experience
with calligraphy pens?

Super Quink by
yland45[_2_]
I just found a bottle of Super Quink in the back of my grandmother's
cupboard. It says that it is Super Quink with solv-X, that cleans the
pen as it writes. Would it still be good to use 50 yrs later in my
Lamy 2000?
Also, my nib is a bit scratchy on the l2k. any suggestions? (the
problem improved...

Montblanc... A trick of the light by
Bristolian
Ive just noticed (being sat next to a very intense desk lamp) that my
MB cap / body resin is not actually black, but a very dark red - I can
just about shine a light through it.
Any particular reason why this might be? My sailor 1911, which has
similarly hard resin, seems to be more solid. And...

Italic nibs in the UK by
Tony Stanford
Hi -
This is for UK subscribers only.
I am now reducing my personal collection of italic pens. I have a
limited number of custom-ground italic nibs in Parker 51 pens, both fine
and medium straight italics.
I also have italic nibs in a number of other pens in my collection,
which I might be...

lamy 2000 capacity by
yland45[_2_]
sorry, me again. Im still trying to understand my new lamy 2000. When
i filled up the piston with water, drained it in to an eyedropper,
then filled it into a standard parker cartridge, it barely reached the
top. was my measurement accurate, or is there no point to the piston
filler?

The Best Ink by
yland45
As important as the quest of finding the ultimate fountain pen is
finding the ultimate fountain pen ink. Any suggestions about your
experiences and preferences? My preference is Lamy Turquoise. It has
beautiful colour variation and the bottle is superbly constructed with
an inbuilt roll of blotting...

How to replace nib of Lamy Studio by
yland45[_2_]
I recently aquired a lamy studio with a medium nib and am not happy
with the thickness (i use fine nibs). So how do i get ahold of spare
nibs? How are they replaced? Are they the same nibs as the lamy
safari?
Also, i like the two-tone gold nib that the palladium version has
over
my stainless steel...

1950s Parker Duofold by
Dan Dare
I have recently obtained a 1950s Parker Duofold, its mint condition and the
nib looks perfect but im dissapointed in the way it writes.
The nib states '585 England 10' and i am using black Parker Quink, but to be
honest the result looks really thick and wet and looks like i have used a
felt tip...

Water Resistant Brown Ink by
Sonny
I currently write with Pelikan Brown. It has become my standard for taking
notes, and signing documents, checks contracts, etc. I recently spilled
some water on notes that I was taking. I couldn't believe how badly the
Pelikan brown washed out. I was writing on a yellow legal pad, and the...

Hi Folks,
I've been thinking of collecting pens for awhile - probably in a
not too-serious way. Are there any good/interesting online resources?
Thanks,
