on a gel pen search by
joe
Alright I'm searching for my holy grail pen, per se.
I really like the Parker Gel refills as they are quite smooth and very,
very fast drying. I have found that they also don't soak into the page
much, making for writing in my small pocket size journal quite nice.
The only problem is that it seems...

Modern and cheap ringtop or chain pen? by
Juhapekka Tolvanen
Well, not exactly. I just bought Herlitz Tornado -fountain pen.
http://www.herlitz.de/
It cost 6.95 EUR at department store called SOKOS here in Jyväskylä,
Finland. There is not very good pictures of that exact model in their
homepage, so I scanned its...

Vac fracture by
C GREEN
Anyone ever have a Parker emerald vac fracture in your pocket? Very clean
break, unloaded all the ink in the bottom of the pocket. Wondering if the
pressure of the seatbelt did it in.
Repair? I assume one can carefully superglue the 2 sections back together.

AN UPDATE ON TRAVISMORE/ANKENY by
mp3
The pens are here, finally!
Travis posted on Pentrace board, that they were shipped on 6/29, but the
package was postmarked July 5th.
It's been very frustrating experience when weeks go by without any
communication from Travis. Not until I began posting on the very same boards
that he posts his ads...

At what point does a pen become jewelry? by
Don
Okay, I know that it's a loaded question but I'm truly mystified. The
practice of taking everyday objects of utility and adorning them to increase
their aesthetic appeal is certainly not a new idea. It's done with
everything from watches to eyeglasses, fountain pens included.
I suppose that it's an...

Don
Do any of you have a vintage Kaweco sport set for sale? I'm interested int
the F/P, B/P set in the black case with the medallion on the chain. I prefer

Mont Blanc Repairs by
salesguy
I have a two Mont Blancs that need repair. The first is a vintage 3-44G in
need of a service as it has started leaking though the piston and weephole.
The second is a LeGrand rollerball where the ferrule has cracked (I know, I
know!) and needs replacing.
Anyone got a suggestion as to where I can...

Please recommend a cheap fountain pen! by
JChapman
I have a beer budget with champaign tastes... which is how I found
myself at this group.
I live near Seattle so WorldLux.com is near. If you were to visit that
site and choose from any brand of fountain pen manufacturer a good pen
for under $50, which would it be and why?
I'd like this pen to...

Gift pen? by
Lee Fyock
Hi--
I'm absolutely new to "serious" pens, and am looking for a gift for my
wife. I was planning on getting a reasonably nice roller-ball, but
after reading some of the posts, a fountain pen sounds like something
she might enjoy.
I'd like to keep it a surprise, so I can't follow the "try it"...

FP (ink) for receipts? by
JChapman
I'm curious what you folks do when presented with one of those shiny,
thermal print-out receipts so many local stores are using. Do you:
1 Sign it proudly with your fountain pen hoping the ink dries fast
enough so the clerk doesn't smear your signature.
2 Sign it proudly with your fountain pen...

No ink at Wal-Mart indeed! by

While we've all been busy tending to our careers and families, a paradigm
shift has been occurring in the retail/wholesale structure of our economy.
Indeed, it is still in progress.

Esterbrook erasers and lead by
Kenneth D. Schillinger
In one of the earlier messages someone asked about Esterbrook eraser
replacement size. This is what I use:
The Esterbrooks take a Parker Ref. E16 DIA 6 mm eraser.
While talking Esterbrook, they use 1.1 mm DIA. long leads. Scriptos are the
ones I try to get when I can find them.
I agree with...
