British Coins Experience by
Bruce Remick
Just returned from a week vacation in London and quickly became comfortable
with their coins and currency. The one pound coin was very handy. The two
pound coin would have been handy, too, but the only one I ever received was at
the US airport when I changed a $50 into pounds before departure. ...

most productive bank roll searches? by
Mark Reed
Being a new collector, im looking to maximize my time searching through
bank rolls for coins.
What areas seem to return the best finds? Dimes, nickles, quarters,
halves, dollars?
Im looking to find older silver, or just nice older coins, maybe some error
coins, etc..

Interesting "junk silver" find by
Dave Hinz
Bought a fistfull of Walker halves last week at "junk silver" price.
Got 'em home, and found a 1921-D in G-4 or maybe a bit better. I'll
post a link to the scans in the next couple of days. No skirt lines are
visible, and there's a old scratch on the flag, but I'd be interested in
comments once I...

Pittsburgh parking meters no longer accept dollar coins by
Paul Anderson
Pittsburgh has had problems lately because their parking meters
indicate they accept dollar coins. Well, the coins are accepted but
offer no parking time in return.

I don't understand why the feature of accepting dollar coins...

Sensible dealer discount on silver bars by
Jeff Weinzel
Got a 100 oz Englehard bar that I want to dispose of.
I have never sold to silver dealers. What would be a sensible price,
in relation to spot price? I do not want to drive around for hours
trying to get extra $10, so I would like to know what is a reasonable
and customary price for such silver...

Do you save copper pennies? by
[email protected]
Does anyone here save the older copper pennies, before 1982? My cousin
told me he is saving them all because he thinks they are going to be
worth more in the future, or may already be. Is anyone besides my
cousin doing this? Should I be, or is he crazy?
I found this article, but am not sure if...

If you ran a TPG Service by
Jorg Lueke
Say you controlled NGC, what would you do to compete?
How would you maximize profit for the investors/shareholders?
Would you try:
Higher fees?
Changing the standards to encourage more submissions?
Increase the types of Coins you slab?

1840 P $10 Eagle On Ebay by
Charles R. Kaiser
I have listed my 1840 P $10 Eagle on eBay if anyone happens to be
interested. I don't think that the pictures that I was able to get do
it justice.
At any rate, it will go for what it goes for. . .
Bidding starts at 99 cents!

ANACS question by
Brian Blackwell
I have a coin I want to submit to ANACS (it has a problem) and have been
poking around on their web site. Does anyone know if they have a minimum
number of coins you need to submit or can I just send in one? I did not find
anything about it on their site.
TIA

Coin Serial Killers? by
radist
Have there been any documented cases of serial killers who targeted coin
collectors? I'm putting together a list of known hobbyist serial killers.
I imagine bird watchers would be easy to off in the woods, kite flyers could
be decapitated with kite lines, scrabble players could be asphyxiated...

Ascertaining dates of worn buffolo nickels? by
The Space Boss
When I was a kid, I had a whole bunch of buffolo nickels and it seemed
that every one I got had the date rubbed off. This "seemed" to be a
problem that was most glaring to buffalo nickels, ie, the relief of the
date was too high as compared to other coins that could keep their
dates even through...

Recommondations for a newbie by
Buford
I have acqired a set of Eisenhower Dollars and it has been setting in
my closet in a Dansco Album for about a year now. I got it our the
other day and see that on some of the coins, they are ageing or
toning. I really like the coins when they appear new and mintlike
without any toning. What is...
