Error in Coinage article by
John Stone
In the latest issue of Coinage there is an article about collecting world coins
and mention is made that Canadian coins no longer circulate in the US border
cities of Canada due to the wide difference in purchasing power between the
US and Canadian dollar. This just isn't true as I get probably at...

A new cent/dime mule is reported on this website:

As with the two previous cent/dime mules, this specimen is unique.

Why isn't there more collector interest in 1909 v.d.b. cent die varieties?
When the U.S. Mint removed the large v.d.b. from the reverse of the cent

Finds from Penny roll checks - weird canadian penny find by
Ron
So, the pennies provided a lesser amount of time than the nickels
(since I had already started the books on the memorials).
Nothing special other than 1919 - between G-4 and VG-8
1953 - F-12
(already had both those dates in my wheaties book)
1975 canadian :(
And, the one that REALLY through...

Oh, good grief by
Bill Krummel
While off line, I recorded info about coin purchases I have made the last
several weeks. I record all pertinent info and describe the type of holder
the coin is in. If the coin is holdered in a 2X2, I assign a letter code to
it and type the code into the spreadsheet and write on the holder...

2003 Silver Proof Sets by
SeaFarer62
The U.S. Mint webpage used to do a good job listing upcoming products. I see
nothing about the 2003 Silver Proof Set. Anyone heard when the Mint plans to
put them on-sale ?
Could there be a delay because they plan to make a silver "Lewis and Clark"
nickel as part of the set ? Apologies if this...

We have bid on a few items on E-Bay and won them. but we got to thinking did
I pay too much?
So what do you all use for a price guide on how much to bid. We looked at
PCGS guide and also Coin World but we could not see it as we are not a
subscriber and is it better than PCGS? We would subscribe to...

I think this seller is being a little less than honest. When his darkened photo is lightened,
look at what you have:

I listed this originally about three weeks ago, with a $390 minimum anfd a

I type, it sits at $338 and change, which I consider to be still in the

100X by
Bob Flaminio
Let's say your typical coin purchase is $X. Your S.O. is perfectly OK
with this, and never gives you grief over it. Every now and then you
encounter a coin that costs $10X. You know that you can buy it and the
S.O. will complain a bit, but all will be well in the end.
Then you see a coin that you...
